Woychuk opened KGB Bar in the Soviet-memorabilia-filled space in 1993, and it became one of the most celebrated book-reading venues in the city, named best literary venue by New York magazine and The Village Voice. The same building stacks three rooms: the Kraine Theater on the ground floor, KGB Bar on the second, and the Red Room — a lounge-and-stage space with live jazz and music — on the third.
