No happy hour – Threes Brewing’s Gowanus flagship does not advertise a happy hour, but it pours a deep lineup of its own crisp lagers, pilsners and IPAs. No happy hour is listed at the Gowanus flagship. The draw here is the beer itself: Threes is one of Brooklyn’s most respected craft breweries, known for lighter, clean, lower-ABV lagers, pilsners and saisons alongside its IPAs. A separate burger-and-a-beer and oyster deal exists at the Greenpoint outpost, but that offer does not apply to this Gowanus location.

Beer and Vibe at Threes Brewing

Threes Brewing is a Gowanus institution: a fully working brewery, coffee shop and beer shop by day that turns into a brewpub, beer garden and live-music venue by night. It has earned a spot among Brooklyn’s most respected breweries, even taking New York State’s top beer honors.

The beer skews crisp and sessionable, with clean lagers, pilsners and saisons alongside hop-forward IPAs. On-site you will also find Ninth Street Espresso for coffee, the Tiny Montgomery music room and “The Yard,” a year-round beer garden that gets tented and heated in winter.

What to Expect

The Gowanus flagship does not advertise a happy hour, so there are no set discount windows to plan around here. What you get instead is the full brewery experience: a rotating draft list of Threes’ own beers, a bar-friendly American food menu from the in-house kitchen partner Grand Army South (snacks, salads, sandwiches and burgers), and their takes on classic cocktails. Note that a burger-plus-beer and oyster happy hour promoted online belongs to the Greenpoint location, not this one.

The Room

Airy and industrial-cool, the Gowanus space balances a relaxed daytime coffee-and-beer crowd with a livelier nighttime brewpub scene. “The Yard” beer garden runs year-round, tented and heated through the colder months, and the on-site Tiny Montgomery room hosts concerts, comedy and events. It is also a popular private-event and wedding venue.
