Weather Up: A White-Tile Cocktail Classic in Tribeca
Weather Up is one of New York’s most enduring cocktail institutions — known for its moody, tile-front façades, expert bartenders, and intimate, whisper-soft atmosphere. With locations in Tribeca and Prospect Heights, it keeps a consistent identity across neighborhoods: elegant, thoughtful, and rooted in classic cocktail craft.
Both rooms share the signature look — dim lighting, candlelit tables, white subway tiles, vintage fixtures, and a timeless, speakeasy-adjacent charm. The Tribeca location delivers a romantic glow with a slightly more polished downtown feel, attracting cocktail lovers, industry folks, and locals after a stylish but understated night — and it runs a happy hour every day it is open that takes the edge off Tribeca cocktail pricing.
The Happy Hour
Weather Up’s own happy hour card reads everyday 5pm–7pm. In practice that means every day they open the doors, because the Tribeca room is dark on Sundays — so call it Monday through Saturday, 5 to 7pm. Four cocktails, two beers, one wine:
- $16 cocktails — Moscow Mule, Revolver, Margarita, Daiquiri. Four classics built properly, not a watered-down happy-hour list.
- $6 beer — Monopolio Lager or Five Boroughs Tiny Juicy IPA. Six-dollar beer in Tribeca is the sleeper deal on this card.
- $12 wine — La Spinetta ‘Il Rosé di Casanova’, a Tuscan rosé.
- No oysters. Weather Up does not serve them. If a list told you otherwise, it copied someone who copied someone.
The Cocktails
Weather Up is built on serious technique — perfectly executed classics, premium spirits, and rotating seasonal signatures. Expect beautifully balanced martinis and Old Fashioneds, mezcal and amaro-forward creations, and house signatures like the Flu Cocktail (rye, cognac, lime, homemade ginger syrup, and soda) or the build-your-own ‘Keep Calm and Carry On.’ The food menu is intentionally minimal — cheeses, olives, nuts, and light bites that let the drinks shine.
Two Locations
The Room
The Tribeca room sits at 159 Duane Street behind Weather Up’s signature white-subway-tile façade — dim, candlelit, and intimate, with vintage fixtures, outdoor seating in season, and live jazz on Fridays. It’s the kind of place that rewards a slow drink and a good conversation, and the 5-to-7 window is the easiest way in. The 1/2/3 and A/C at Chambers St are both a short walk.

Weather Up FAQ
Does Weather Up have a happy hour?
Yes — the Tribeca location runs one every day it is open, Monday through Saturday, 5 to 7pm: $16 cocktails (Moscow Mule, Revolver, Margarita, Daiquiri), $6 beer and $12 rosé. It does not run a $1 oyster happy hour, whatever the aggregators say — there are no oysters on the menu at all.
Where is Weather Up?
There are two locations: Tribeca at 159 Duane Street (where the happy hour runs) and the original in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, at 589 Vanderbilt Avenue. The Tribeca room is a short walk from Chambers St.
What should I drink?
Classic cocktails are the point — a balanced martini or Old Fashioned, or a house signature like the Flu Cocktail. The bar team values precision, so it’s a good place to order a well-made classic.
What are the hours?
The Tribeca location runs Monday 5–11pm, Tuesday–Wednesday to midnight, Thursday to 1am, Friday–Saturday to 2am, and is closed Sunday. The bar is small — come early for the happy-hour window.
Happy hour details verified August 2026 directly from Weather Up’s own printed happy hour card. Deals change — confirm with the bar before visiting.
