The Bears bars NYC has come down to one excellent Midtown room and one honest Brooklyn alternative. Overlook at 225 E 44th St is where @beardownnyc — a real, organised Bears fan club — runs its weekly game watches, and it happens to have the best happy hour on this entire site: 4–7pm every day including Sunday, half-price apps, $5–$6 drafts, $7 wells, plus $1 Bud Light drafts on Wednesday nights. Thirty-plus TVs and two jumbotrons. In Bay Ridge, Windy City Ale House pours six Goose Island beers and serves Chicago dogs, though its dominant identity is hockey. One search warning: @bearhappyhournyc is not Chicago Bears.

One disambiguation, before you search Instagram
If you look for “bear happy hour NYC” you will land on two accounts that have nothing to do with each other, and only one of them involves football.
| Account | What it actually is |
|---|---|
| @beardownnyc | The Chicago Bears fan club. Its own bio: “The best Chicago Bears fan club in the country in NYC! Come join our weekly game watches and tailgate parties at Overlook in mid town Manhattan!” This is the one you want. |
| @bearhappyhournyc | Not football. It is “NYC’s weekly, floating happy hour for the Bear Community” — an LGBTQ+ social event, every Thursday 5–9pm, with no connection to Overlook or the NFL. A perfectly good night out, just not the one you were searching for. |

The Bears bars
One Midtown clubhouse with the fan club and the best happy hour on this site, and one Chicago-themed Bay Ridge room that is honestly more of a hockey bar.
Overlook On now
The Bears bar in New York, and the best-value room in this entire series. Thirty-plus TVs and two jumbotrons positioned so that, in the bar’s own words, there is not a bad seat in the house. The Bears connection belongs to the fan club rather than the venue: @beardownnyc calls itself “the best Chicago Bears fan club in the country” and runs its weekly game watches and tailgates here. Overlook’s own Instagram is a wall of #BearDown. The value, and it is genuinely the best on this site: happy hour 4–7pm every day including Sunday, half-price apps, $5–$6 drafts, $7 wells, $8 wine. Taco Tuesday is $3 tacos and $7 margaritas. Wednesday’s $1 Bud Light drafts run 7–9pm. Late happy hour midnight to 3am Thursday and Friday. Weekend buckets $15–$25 and $30 Bud Light towers.

Windy City Ale House
Genuinely Chicago — six Goose Island beers on tap, Chicago-style hot dogs, Cubs, Bulls, Bears and Blackhawks regalia on the walls. But be clear about what it is. The venue’s own site makes no Bears-specific claim anywhere, and the most detailed independent write-up of the room says that despite the Chicago pride, this ale house is Rangers headquarters — its dominant identity is hockey. The verdict: a good Chicago-themed bar in Bay Ridge that will have the Bears on, not a Bears house. Go here instead if you live in south Brooklyn and a trip to Midtown is not happening; go to Overlook if you want the crowd. Opens at 4pm, which rules out a 1pm kickoff.

Backups
Overlook does not open its happy hour until 4pm, which is a problem for a 1pm kickoff. These three open earlier. More in the full NFL bars in NYC guide.
Stout — Bryant Park
The answer when your bar is at capacity or the game is a 4:25 you did not plan for. Stout lists this room for “Seattle Seahawks, Ohio State, James Madison and the University of Washington, plus NFL RedZone” — and RedZone is the point. Twenty-nine TVs and a 10-foot projector, the only one of the four Stouts that publishes a screen count. The local move: live DJ 1–6:30pm every football Sunday, so the room stays up after the early window ends. Not a Bears room, but it will have the Bears game on a screen.

Mustang Harry’s On now
The 1pm option, because it opens at 11:30am and Overlook’s happy hour does not start until 4. $6.50 Bud Light, $7.50 house craft lager, $12 shot of the day, 2–5pm daily, plus “full ‘Game Sound’ throughout our two-floor space” for big events. The honest caveat: two blocks from the Garden and its own priorities run Knicks, Rangers, UFC, Ravens.

Continental Sports Lounge On now
Seventy-plus screens and a video wall, and the only bar in this guide whose own site names the team it belongs to — the “Official Buffalo Bills Backers BAR in FiDi NYC.” That matters to a Bears fan for the obvious reason: with that much glass, every other game still gets a screen, and downtown has nothing else close to this size. The local move: three blocks from the 2/3 at Wall St, and unlike the rest of FiDi it does not empty out at 6pm on a weekend. The honest caveat: if the Bills are playing, the video wall is spoken for.
