Cowboys Bars
in NYC
America’s Team has one working bar in New York. The other five on every list are closed, Dutch, or in Newark.
The Playwright on W 35th is the only working NYC Cowboys bar
- 1 supporters club bar
- 2 commonly listed, closed
- 4 big-room fallbacks
- season opens 9 Sept
The short version
- The only oneThe Playwright Irish Pub, 27 W 35th St – hosts NYC’s Dallas Cowboys Supporters Club, still posting about it this preseason.
- Best value nearbyMustang Harry’s – $6.50 Bud Light, 2-5pm daily, four blocks away.
- Most screensContinental in FiDi – 70+ TVs and a video wall.
- ClosedAll-Stars Bar & Grill and Stone Creek are both shut. Both still appear on current Cowboys lists.
- Not a Cowboys barHurley’s own site calls it the home of Dutch football supporters. Hill Country has no Cowboys content at all.
Here is the honest version. The Cowboys bars NYC guides keep recommending are mostly not Cowboys bars and in two cases are not bars at all any more — All-Stars and Stone Creek are closed, Hurley’s own website calls it the home of Dutch football supporters, and one widely-cited listing is in Newark. The one that works is The Playwright Irish Pub at 27 W 35th St, which hosts the city’s Dallas Cowboys Supporters Club and was still posting about it this preseason. After that, your best options are big verified rooms rather than a Cowboys house: Mustang Harry’s four blocks away, Continental‘s 70-plus screens downtown, and Overlook near Grand Central.

What every other Cowboys guide gets wrong
Dallas has the biggest fanbase in the league and one working bar in New York. That is the honest answer, and it is only surprising because the guides that say otherwise are recycling a list nobody has checked in years. Here is every commonly recommended NYC Cowboys bar, and what is actually true about it as of August 2026.
| Bar | Address | What’s actually true | Who still lists it |
|---|---|---|---|
| All-Stars Bar & Grill | 327 W 57th St | Closed. Yelp lists it as closed outright. | Named on multiple current Cowboys lists |
| Stone Creek Bar & Lounge | 140 E 27th St | Closed. Its own old posts called it the “one and only official Cowboys bar in NYC” — past tense now. | Forum threads and aggregators |
| Hurley’s Saloon | 232 W 48th St | Open, but its own site brands it “Home of Dutch football supporters” — that is soccer, not the NFL. No Cowboys content anywhere on it. | murphguide, 2ndhomesports |
| Hill Country Barbecue | 30 W 26th St | Open, and genuinely Texan. But we read the site and menus end to end: no Cowboys content of any kind. The association appears to be an assumption about the barbecue. | Several guides, repeatedly |
| Blaggards Pub | 8 W 38th St | Open at 8 W 38th (a 45 W 39th listing is a stale duplicate), but no first-party Cowboys claim we could confirm. | 2ndhomesports, 6sqft |
| Allure Lounge | 417 Halsey St | Not in New York City. That address is Newark, New Jersey. | A “Best Cowboys Bars in NYC” roundup |

The Cowboys bar
Singular, and that is not an editing mistake. One bar in New York currently hosts an organised Cowboys supporters club.
The Playwright Irish Pub
The only surviving answer, and we mean that literally — see the table below for the two Cowboys bars every other guide still recommends that are shut. The Playwright’s own page says it is “proud to host NYC’s newest Dallas Cowboys Supporters Club” and their Instagram was still posting about it this preseason: “NFL preseason is here, and we’re ready to cheer on our Cowboys!” The verdict: a solid, central Irish pub five minutes from Penn that has actively kept the affiliation alive while everything around it closed. The honest caveat: no published prices, no published sound policy, and their website was intermittently unreachable when we checked — call ahead if you are bringing a group.

Where to go instead
Four big rooms that will have the game on, all verified, none of them a Cowboys house. See the full NFL bars in NYC guide and our best sports bars roundup.
Stout — Bryant Park
The answer when your bar is at capacity or the game is a 4:25 you did not plan for. Stout lists this room for “Seattle Seahawks, Ohio State, James Madison and the University of Washington, plus NFL RedZone” — and RedZone is the point. Twenty-nine TVs and a 10-foot projector, the only one of the four Stouts that publishes a screen count. The local move: live DJ 1–6:30pm every football Sunday, so the room stays up after the early window ends. Not a Cowboys room, but it will have the Cowboys game on a screen.

Mustang Harry’s On now
Four blocks from The Playwright and the obvious overflow. Their FAQ promises “full ‘Game Sound’ throughout our two-floor space” for big events, and the happy hour is real and published: $6.50 Bud Light, $7.50 craft lager, $12 shot of the day, 2–5pm daily plus midnight to 2am. The verdict: the best-value Cowboys afternoon in this city, if you accept that no room here belongs to you. The honest caveat: the bar’s own priorities are Knicks, Rangers, UFC and Ravens.

Continental Sports Lounge On now
Seventy-plus screens and a video wall, and the only bar in this guide whose own site names the team it belongs to — the “Official Buffalo Bills Backers BAR in FiDi NYC.” That matters to a Cowboys fan for the obvious reason: with that much glass, every other game still gets a screen, and downtown has nothing else close to this size. The local move: three blocks from the 2/3 at Wall St, and unlike the rest of FiDi it does not empty out at 6pm on a weekend. The honest caveat: if the Bills are playing, the video wall is spoken for.

Overlook On now
Thirty-plus TVs and two jumbotrons a block from Grand Central, with a happy hour that runs 4–7pm every day including Sunday — half-price apps, $5–$6 drafts, $7 wells. That Sunday coverage is rarer than it sounds; most rooms suspend the discount for football. The local move: Wednesday’s $1 Bud Light drafts run 7–9pm, which is the cheapest hour in this guide, and Thursday Night Football is the obvious use for it.

Watching the Cowboys in NYC: FAQ
Is there a Dallas Cowboys bar in NYC?
One: The Playwright Irish Pub at 27 W 35th Street in Midtown, whose own site says it is “proud to host NYC’s newest Dallas Cowboys Supporters Club.” Its Instagram was still posting Cowboys content this preseason. That is the complete list of currently operating New York bars with an organised Cowboys affiliation that we could verify.
What happened to the old NYC Cowboys bars?
All-Stars Bar & Grill at 327 W 57th Street and Stone Creek Bar & Lounge at 140 E 27th Street are both permanently closed – Stone Creek’s own posts once called it the “one and only official Cowboys bar in NYC.” Both still appear on Cowboys bar lists published as though they were current.
Is Hurley’s Saloon a Cowboys bar?
No. Hurley’s at 232 W 48th Street is open, but its own website brands it the “Home of Dutch football supporters” – that is soccer, not the NFL, and there is no Cowboys content anywhere on its site. Several guides list it for the Cowboys anyway. Hill Country Barbecue at 30 W 26th Street is similar: genuinely Texan, but with no Cowboys content on its site or menus.
Where should I watch the Cowboys in NYC if The Playwright is full?
Mustang Harry’s at 352 7th Avenue is four blocks away, has 20+ HDTVs across two floors, promises full game sound for big events, and runs a published happy hour 2-5pm daily plus midnight to 2am. Downtown, Continental Sports Lounge has 70+ screens and a video wall. Near Grand Central, Overlook has 30+ TVs, two jumbotrons and a 4-7pm happy hour every day including Sunday.
Where can I watch every NFL game at once in NYC?
Stout Bryant Park, 109 W 39th Street, carries NFL RedZone every Sunday on 29 TVs and a 10-foot projector, with a live DJ from 1pm to 6:30pm. It is the standard answer for any fanbase without a dedicated New York room, which as of 2026 includes fifteen of the 32 teams.
