The two supporters' clubs

Liverpool is the only Premier League club with two official supporters clubs in New York, in two boroughs, at two prices. More rooms in our guide to the best soccer bars in NYC.

11th St. Bar On now

East Village, LFCNY's home since 2004 · 510 E 11th St $$$
$2 off all beer, draft wine and house liquorMon–Fri 2–7pm
Early kickoffsYes — and they publish the door time for every single fixture

The Verdict: the best-run soccer bar in New York, and it is not close. LFCNY has been here since 2004 — the oldest official Liverpool supporters club in America, founded 1995, around 800 members — and 11th St. Bar does the one thing no other venue in this city bothers to do: it publishes the exact door time for every fixture. Doors 7am for a 7:30am kickoff. 9am for a 10am. For Man City and Arsenal, members get in at 10am and everyone else at 10:30. The Honest Caveat: capacity is 125, first come first served, and no reservations of any kind, ever. The Local Move: a $35 LFCNY membership buys you a thirty-minute head start into a room that fills, plus $1 off drinks at partner bars. On a derby that is the whole ballgame. No cover, though — the club's own words: never have, never will.

The Monro Pub

South Slope, OLSC Brooklyn's room · 481 5th Ave $$$
No published happy hour — but members get breakfast tacos on 7:30am gamessee caveat
Early kickoffsYes for members — opens about 90 minutes early, no published time

The Verdict: the Brooklyn answer, and the friendlier one. Owner Vinny Evans is from Liverpool and named the pub after the one where he met his wife. OLSC Brooklyn runs about 300 members and charges $10 a season — a quarter of what Manhattan asks — which buys priority entry when the room fills and, on select 7:30am kickoffs, complimentary breakfast tacos. That is a real thing they publish. The Local Move: outside food is actively encouraged, so bring a bacon roll for a dawn game. Four screens, a back room with tables, a patio, pinball that goes quiet during matches. The Honest Caveat: posted hours say noon at weekends and the early opening is a supporters-club arrangement, not a published policy. No reservations on match days, ever.

Carragher's Bar & Boot Room On now

FiDi, part-owned by Jamie Carragher · 17 John St $$$
$5 Coors/Miller drafts, $8 house wine & liquor, $10 cocktail of the dayMon–Fri 10am–4am
Early kickoffsClaimed for every LFC game — but no door time is published

The Verdict: three rooms, each holding a hundred, an eighteen-hour weekday happy hour, and Jamie Carragher's name over the door since he bought in about six years ago. The manager's line to CBS — that for the regulars this room is their church — is corny and also basically accurate on a big Sunday. The Honest Caveat, and this one will save you a trip: OpenTable still lists Carragher's at 228 West 39th Street. That location is closed. The bar is at 17 John Street in the Financial District, downstairs, by Fulton Center. Second caveat: the happy hour above sits on a page headed Summer Specials, so confirm it before you bank on $5 pints in November. Free admission to screenings; book a table over 20. Nearby and worth knowing: Continental Sports Lounge on Beaver Street runs a happy hour seven days a week — all day Mon–Thu, 4–6pm Friday, and late night 7pm–close at weekends.

The Grafton

East Village, LFCNY partner bar · 126 First Ave $$$
No published happy hour — LFCNY members get $1 off on matchdaysmembers only
Early kickoffsOpens 10am weekends and goes earlier for listed fixtures — check their schedule

The Verdict: the overflow room when 11th St. Bar hits 125 and you are still on the pavement, and a twelve-minute walk between the two. It is an official LFCNY partner bar, which means a membership card gets you $1 off every drink on a matchday. Ten in the morning at weekends, three in the morning at the other end. The Local Move: they keep a Football & Rugby fixtures page and they will open before their posted hours for anything on it — a 9am Sunday kickoff against Bournemouth is currently listed, an hour before the door officially opens. The Honest Caveat: they do not publish door times, screen counts or a happy hour, and their menus are images, so there is nothing to quote you on drinks pricing.

Queens, and the early-kickoff fallback

One outer-borough partner bar and the one venue with a 7am door in writing. Also: the best sports bars in NYC.

Shillelagh Tavern

Astoria, the only Queens option · 47-22 30th Ave $$$
No published happy hour — LFCNY members get $1 off on matchdaysmembers only
Early kickoffsNot published, and no listing shows a door before noon — call first

The Verdict: it is on LFCNY's official partner list, and that is genuinely the only hard credential we can give it. If you live in Queens and do not want to cross a river before a 10am kickoff, this is your room. The Honest Caveat, stated plainly: Shillelagh has no website. Every hour you will find for it comes from an aggregator, and not one of those listings shows a door before noon on any day of the week. That cannot be right for a Liverpool partner bar and we are not going to paper over it. Ring 718-728-9028 before you walk over for a morning game. Members still get their $1 off here.

The Football Factory at Legends

Midtown, the guaranteed early door · 6 W 33rd St $$$
No published happy hour—
Early kickoffsYes — 7am Saturday, 9am Sunday. Closes 7pm both days

The Verdict: not a Liverpool room, but the insurance policy. When 11th St. Bar caps at 125 and Carragher's is deep and it is 7am on a Saturday, this is the only Manhattan venue with an early door in writing. Thirty-plus supporters groups, a hundred-plus matches a week, lower level, 21+. The Honest Caveat nobody else prints: it closes at 7pm on Saturday and Sunday. It is a daytime operation. For an evening fixture the shutters are down and you want Carragher's.

Watching Liverpool in NYC: FAQ

Where is the official Liverpool supporters club bar in NYC?

11th St. Bar at 510 E 11th St in the East Village, home of LFCNY since 2004. LFCNY was founded in 1995 and is the oldest official Liverpool supporters club in the United States, with around 800 members. There is a second official club: OLSC Brooklyn, about 300 members, based at The Monro Pub at 481 5th Avenue in South Slope.

What time does 11th St. Bar open for Liverpool games?

They publish a door time for every individual fixture rather than a blanket policy. Doors are 7am for a 7:30am kickoff, 9am for a 10am kickoff and 8am for a 9am kickoff. For the biggest matches the door splits: on Liverpool v Man City and Liverpool v Arsenal, LFCNY members get in at 10am and the general public at 10:30am. Capacity is 125, it is first come first served, and they take no reservations of any kind.

Is there a cover charge to watch Liverpool in NYC?

Not at LFCNY. Their own FAQ answers the question with “No! Never have, never will.” Non-members are welcome at every fixture, though for cup ties and high-profile matches some bars give members priority entry. A $35 LFCNY membership also gets you $1 off drinks at partner bars on matchdays. OLSC Brooklyn charges $10 a season and gives members priority entry when the Monro is likely to fill.

Has Carragher's moved?

Yes. Carragher's is at 17 John Street in the Financial District, near Fulton Center. The old Garment District location at 228 West 39th Street is closed, but OpenTable still publishes that address and its hours, so a lot of people are still being sent to the wrong place. The current bar has three rooms holding at least a hundred each and a weekday happy hour running 10am to 4am.

Can you drink at 7:30am for an early Liverpool kickoff?

Not immediately. New York State licenses on-premises alcohol from 8am Monday to Saturday and not until 10am on Sunday, across Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. So a 7:30am Saturday kickoff means coffee and food for the first half hour, and a 10am Sunday kickoff means the taps open on the whistle. This is exactly why the Monro hands out breakfast tacos and why bars with early doors build a breakfast menu.
