The short version

  • The Steelers barHibernia – “our bartenders don’t channel surf,” plus Heinz Field anthems and sound bites.
  • Fan club HQPrinters Alley – official home of Steelers Nation NYC, quieter than Hibernia.
  • Longest happy hourDylan Murphy’s – noon to 7pm every day, covering both kickoff windows.
  • Do not goHaswell Green’s bans Steelers fans outright – “ZERO EXCEPTIONS,” in the Browns Backers’ own words.
  • ClosedCody’s Bar & Grill on Hudson St is shut. Several guides still list it.

The Steelers bars NYC fans actually fill are Hibernia at 401 W 50th St, which promises its bartenders don’t channel surf and pipes in the same anthems you would hear at Heinz Field, and Printers Alley at 215 W 40th, the official home of Steelers Nation NYC. Uptown, Dylan Murphy’s runs a seven-hour happy hour that has quietly become a Yorkville Steelers hangout. One warning that no other guide gives you: Haswell Green’s, fourteen blocks from Hibernia, bans Steelers fans from the building. And Cody’s on Hudson, which still turns up on Steelers lists, closed.

The Steelers bars

Two real Steelers rooms in Manhattan and one long happy hour uptown that happens to attract the crowd. New York has a genuine Steelers scene, which is more than most out-of-market fanbases get.

Hibernia Bar

Six HDTVs, one projector, zero channel-surfing · 401 W 50th St, Hell’s Kitchen $$$
No published prices — come for the roomgame days
Happy hourGame days
SoundSteelers only, with Heinz Field audio cues

The best line any New York sports bar has written about itself, and the whole reason to come: “our bartenders don’t channel surf, we watch the Steelers.” They go further and claim to play “the same songs, anthems, and sound bites you’ll hear at Heinz Field.” Six HDTVs and a projection screen is small by Midtown standards — and that is exactly the point, because nobody is arguing about what’s on. The local move: they run a Steelers pregame happy hour before the season opens, 3–6pm on Saturday 6 September, with giveaways and a shot at tailgate tickets. The honest caveat: no drink prices published anywhere, so this is a room recommendation, not a value one.

Printers Alley

The fan club’s official home, calmer than Hibernia · 215 W 40th St, Garment District $$$
No published game-day pricing—
Happy hourGame days
SoundNo published policy — the club runs the room

Their own page calls it “the official home of Steelers Nation NYC, NYC’s #1 Steelers fan club.” Worth being precise about what that means: it is the fan club’s designated bar, not a team-registered backers location — the NFL’s Steelers Nation Unite finder returns nothing in New York at all. The verdict: the lower-key of the two real options. If Hibernia’s Heinz Field sound effects are a bit much, come here instead. The honest caveat: nothing published on prices or sound policy, and it is a block off Times Square, so expect the room to include people who wandered in.

Dylan Murphy’s On now

Seven-hour happy hour, uptown, no team branding · 1453 Third Ave, Upper East Side $$$
Happy hour daily, noon to 7pm7 hours
Happy hourDaily 12–7pm
SoundNo published policy

Seven hours of happy hour, every single day — noon to 7pm, which is the longest window of any bar in this whole series and covers both the 1pm and the 4:25 kickoff. Prices are not listed on the specials page, so we cannot tell you what it saves you. Be clear on what this is: we read their site end to end and there is no mention of the Steelers, the NFL or football anywhere. The connection is a Yorkville fan group that adopted the bar, not the bar adopting the team. Worth it if you live uptown and want a long, cheap afternoon; go to Hibernia instead if you want the room to care.

Backups, and one bar to avoid

Where to go when Hell’s Kitchen is full — and the one address in Midtown where black and gold is officially unwelcome. More in the full NFL bars in NYC guide.

Haswell Green’s

Fourteen blocks away, and you are not welcome · 240 W 52nd St, Midtown $$$
Steelers fans barred — their words, not oursZERO EXCEPTIONS
Happy hourBrowns game days
SoundBrowns broadcasts, exclusively

An anti-recommendation, and the most entertaining sentence we found all season. Haswell Green’s is the New York home of Big Apple Browns Backers, now in its sixteenth season, and the chapter’s own house rules read: “NO STEELERS FANS ALLOWED FOR ANY GAME! They are strictly prohibited, mocked relentlessly and cannot enter our establishment… ZERO EXCEPTIONS.” It is a 300-capacity room on West 52nd, fourteen blocks from Hibernia. The verdict: if you are wearing black and gold, this is the one bar in New York to walk past. We are including it so you do not find out the hard way.

Stout — Bryant Park

29 TVs, a 10ft projector, and RedZone · 109 W 39th St, Midtown $$$
No football-specific pricing published—
Happy hourSun–Tue 11:30am–midnight
SoundSeahawks room — but RedZone every Sunday

The answer when your bar is at capacity or the game is a 4:25 you did not plan for. Stout lists this room for “Seattle Seahawks, Ohio State, James Madison and the University of Washington, plus NFL RedZone” — and RedZone is the point. Twenty-nine TVs and a 10-foot projector, the only one of the four Stouts that publishes a screen count. The local move: live DJ 1–6:30pm every football Sunday, so the room stays up after the early window ends. Not a Steelers room, but it will have the Steelers game on a screen.

Mustang Harry’s On now

Two floors, 20+ HDTVs, full game sound · 352 7th Ave, Chelsea $$$
$6.50 Bud Light, $7.50 craft lager, $12 shot of the day2–5pm & midnight–2am
Happy hourDaily 2–5pm
SoundFull game sound for big events

The value option, and unlike either Steelers room it actually publishes prices: $6.50 Bud Light, $7.50 house craft lager, $12 shot of the day, $14 house wine, 2–5pm daily and again from midnight to 2am. Their FAQ promises “full ‘Game Sound’ throughout our two-floor space” for big events. The honest caveat: the bar’s own priority list is Knicks, Rangers, UFC and Ravens, and it is two blocks from the Garden, so a Steelers game is not winning the speakers on a Rangers night.

Watching the Steelers in NYC: FAQ

Where is the Steelers bar in NYC?

Hibernia Bar, 401 W 50th Street in Hell’s Kitchen. Its own Steelers page states “our bartenders don’t channel surf, we watch the Steelers” and says it plays “the same songs, anthems, and sound bites you’ll hear at Heinz Field.” Six HDTVs plus a projection screen. Printers Alley at 215 W 40th Street is the other real option – it calls itself the official home of Steelers Nation NYC, the city’s largest Steelers fan club.

Is there an official Steelers Nation Unite bar in New York?

No. The NFL’s own Steelers Nation Unite bar finder returns no New York listings. Hibernia’s “best Steelers bar in NYC” claim is self-branded, and Printers Alley is the designated home of an independent fan club rather than a team-registered location. Both are real Steelers rooms; neither carries an official league or team registration.

Which NYC bar bans Steelers fans?

Haswell Green’s at 240 W 52nd Street, the home of Big Apple Browns Backers. The chapter’s own house rules read: “NO STEELERS FANS ALLOWED FOR ANY GAME! They are strictly prohibited, mocked relentlessly and cannot enter our establishment… ZERO EXCEPTIONS.” It is a 300-capacity room fourteen blocks from Hibernia, so it is an easy mistake to make.

Where can I get a cheap drink before a Steelers game in NYC?

Dylan Murphy’s at 1453 Third Avenue runs happy hour daily from noon to 7pm – seven hours, the longest window of any bar in this guide, and it covers both the 1pm and 4:25pm kickoffs. Prices are not published. Mustang Harry’s at 352 7th Avenue does publish: $6.50 Bud Light, $7.50 house craft lager and $12 shot of the day, 2-5pm daily and again from midnight to 2am.

Which Steelers bars in NYC have closed?

Cody’s Bar & Grill at 282 Hudson Street is permanently closed, and still appears on several circulating Steelers bar lists. We also could not verify any current Steelers affiliation for a New York “Public House” despite aggregator listings, and Mean Fiddler on W 47th makes no Steelers claim anywhere on its own site.
