Cello Wine & Cocktail Bistro: An East 53rd Street Wine Bar Pouring $9 Glasses Until 6:30pm
Cello Wine & Cocktail Bistro is on East 53rd Street between Second and Third Avenues in Midtown East, and its happy hour is a flat $9: Monday through Friday from 4 to 6:30pm, a seasonal spritz, homemade sangria, or a glass of rosé, prosecco, sauvignon blanc, malbec or Bordeaux. For an after-work glass in this part of Midtown, that’s a clean price.
The rest of the list is the reason to stay. Every wine Cello carries is available by the glass, and the selection rotates through old- and new-world bottles picked by its sommelier team. There are classic and house cocktails built to go with the wine, craft beer from local breweries, and a kitchen that runs until 10pm. Stay past 6:30 and the by-the-glass rule still holds: the next round can be anything on the list, not just the five happy-hour pours.
The Happy Hour
Happy hour runs Monday through Friday, 4–6:30pm, from the moment Cello opens. Everything on the list is $9: the seasonal spritz, homemade sangria, and wines by the glass — rosé, prosecco, sauvignon blanc, malbec and Bordeaux. There’s no Saturday happy hour, and Cello is closed Sunday. The 6:30pm cutoff is earlier than most, so plan to be there by 6. Verified on Cello’s own site in October 2026.
The Room
Cello is at 226 East 53rd Street, open 4–11pm Monday to Wednesday, 4pm–midnight Thursday and Friday, and 5pm–midnight Saturday. The kitchen serves until 10pm, reservations are on Resy, and events go through events@cellony.com. The E and M at Lexington Avenue–53rd Street and the 6 at 51st Street are the closest trains.
