The best Brooklyn happy hours aren’t across the river in Manhattan — they’re cheaper, run later, and hide block by block. Williamsburg and Greenpoint own the waterfront’s densest deals — $1 oysters, $11 rooftop cocktails, four-hour Polish-pub pours. Bushwick goes latest and youngest. And the brownstone belt — Park Slope, Gowanus, Bed-Stuy and Downtown Brooklyn — runs the after-work crowd, from $8 cocktails to brewery bocce. Use the map to jump to your block, or read on for the moves worth making tonight — every deal priced, timed, and checked, updated for 2026.

The rundown

How to work Brooklyn happy hour

Where you drink in Brooklyn comes down to two things: which side of the borough you’re on, and how late you want to go. Here’s how the map breaks down.

North Brooklyn runs the scene. Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bushwick hold the highest concentration of good happy hours in the borough — waterfront cocktail rooms, Polish dive bars that have poured cheap for decades, and warehouse-district spots that go late. Down here you’ll find $1 oysters at Lighthouse BK, $5 drafts on Grand Street, and four-hour daily deals at Greenpoint pubs like Black Rabbit. The L and G trains string it all together, so one night can cover three neighborhoods without a cab.

Brownstone Brooklyn pours slower — and often cheaper. Park Slope, Gowanus and Bed-Stuy trade the waterfront scene for neighborhood pace: beer bars and cocktail rooms off Fifth Avenue, breweries and bocce among the Gowanus warehouses, and under-the-radar value in Bed-Stuy, where Dynaco runs $8 classic cocktails and the brownstone blocks are some of the prettiest in the city. For after-work convenience, Downtown Brooklyn empties its offices around Fulton Mall and MetroTech at five, and the deals follow.

On timing: Brooklyn happy hours skew later than Manhattan’s. Most run 4–7pm on weekdays, but plenty of north Brooklyn spots push the window to 8 or run all day, and the Bushwick and Williamsburg crowd keeps going well past it. Sunday is the thinnest day across the borough, so check the neighborhood guide before you make the trip. After something specific? We break it out by $1 oyster deals and dive bars in the roundups too.

Brooklyn happy hour FAQ

What time does happy hour start in Brooklyn?
Most Brooklyn happy hours run 4–7pm on weekdays, and north Brooklyn often runs later — plenty of Williamsburg and Bushwick spots push to 8pm or beyond. A few run all day or daily: Black Rabbit in Greenpoint pours a four-hour happy hour every day. Sunday is the thinnest day across the borough, so check the neighborhood guide before you go.
Which Brooklyn neighborhood has the best happy hours?
For range and value, Williamsburg is hard to beat — $1 oysters, rooftop cocktails, and $5 drafts all within five blocks. For cheap and late, it’s Bushwick. For daily deals and Polish-pub prices, Greenpoint. And for under-the-radar value, Bed-Stuy and Park Slope both deliver without the north-Brooklyn crowds.
Where are the cheapest drinks in Brooklyn?
For food-and-drink value, the $1 oysters at Lighthouse BK in Williamsburg are the borough’s best deal, running daily. You’ll also find $5 drafts at Hole in the Wall on Grand Street, cash-only neighborhood prices at Temkin’s in Greenpoint, and $8 classic cocktails at Dynaco in Bed-Stuy. As neighborhoods, Bushwick and Greenpoint are where the cheap-drinks density lives.
Is Brooklyn cheaper than Manhattan for happy hour?
Generally yes — especially north Brooklyn and Bed-Stuy, where the same $1 oyster or $5 draft costs less than the Manhattan equivalent and the rooms feel less like a chain. The trade is a slightly longer trip for some, but the L, G and Downtown Brooklyn lines make it easy. If you’re comparing, our Manhattan happy hour guide covers the other side of the river block by block.
Are there late-night or weekend happy hours in Brooklyn?
Yes. Bushwick and Williamsburg run the latest, and several spots hold daily windows — Black Rabbit in Greenpoint goes four hours every day. Weekend deals are thinner than weekdays but they exist; for the full set, see the best Saturday happy hours and Sunday happy hours in NYC.
