David Burke Tavern: An East 62nd Street Townhouse Bar With a 4–7pm Happy Hour
David Burke Tavern is celebrity chef David Burke’s modern American restaurant on East 62nd Street, set across the first two floors of an Upper East Side townhouse, and it runs a happy hour from 4 to 7pm in the Tavern. The restaurant’s own site lists it as daily; its OpenTable page lists Monday to Thursday.
This is a business-casual room with a full dinner menu — OpenTable files it under contemporary American, steak and cocktail bar, with a typical check of $31–$50 a person — so the bar hour is the cheaper way in. The happy-hour menu features the Tavern cheeseburger, with Vermont cheddar, B1 mayo, lettuce, onion and tomato on an English muffin. The restaurant also books private dining rooms and runs ticketed wine dinners.
The Happy Hour
Happy hour runs 4–7pm in the Tavern. The days are where the sources split: the hours on David Burke Tavern’s own site say daily, its OpenTable listing says Monday through Thursday, and an older graphic on the site shows 3:30–6:30pm. We’ve gone with the restaurant’s own 4–7pm, and if you’re planning a Friday or weekend visit, call ahead. No happy-hour prices are published, so ask at the bar what’s included. Checked against the restaurant’s site and OpenTable in October 2026.
