Harlem Nights: An Adam Clayton Powell Lounge With a Daily 5pm Happy Hour
Harlem Nights is a neighborhood bar and lounge on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard at 138th Street, and happy hour starts when the doors do: daily from 5pm. The bar’s own site gives the window as 5–7pm. A July 2026 Harlem happy-hour roundup reported $5 shots and select beers, $7 craft beer and select wine, and $8 house cocktails.
The bar has a history as a stage for local musicians — DNAinfo wrote up the Army veteran owner who built the room one detail at a time — and its house cocktail list changes every few months. When the weather allows, there’s a summer deck out on the sidewalk and street. It’s open late every night, until 4am on weekends.
The Happy Hour
Harlem Nights’ own site lists happy hour as daily, 5–7pm. Two caveats. That page reads as if it hasn’t been updated since the pandemic reopening, and a July 2026 roundup from The Curious Uptowner has the happy hour running later, 5–9pm daily, with $5 shots and select beers, $7 craft beer and select wine, and $8 house cocktails. We’ve gone with the bar’s own 5–7pm; if you’re arriving after 7, ask whether the deal is still on. The prices come from that roundup, not the bar, so confirm before you order.
The Room
Harlem Nights is at 2361 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard, at West 138th Street in central Harlem. It opens at 5pm and runs until 2am on weeknights and 4am on weekends. There’s indoor seating, outdoor seating and the seasonal sidewalk deck, plus a full food menu. Live music was on pause the last time the bar’s site was updated, so check before you go for a show. The 2 and 3 at 135th Street are the closest trains.
