John Devoy's: An Eight-Hour Happy Hour and $1 Oysters in NoMad
John Devoy’s is an Irish bar and kitchen at 377 Park Avenue South that opened in 2024, and the reason to know it is the clock: happy hour starts when the doors open at 11am and doesn’t stop until 7pm, every day of the week. In NoMad, where a cocktail can run past $20, $7 drafts and $1 oysters for eight hours a day is a real deal, not a gimmick.
The Deal
Every day, 11am–7pm:
- Bottled beer $5, drafts $7
- House wine $7, well drinks $7
- Select cocktails $12
- Oysters $1 each
The honest caveat: we took these prices from the Flatiron NoMad Partnership’s happy hour guide, updated April 2026, because the bar doesn’t publish them itself. That listing says the oysters are $1 all day, while others say they stop at 7pm. If you’re planning a late oyster session, ask first. The bar pours its own John Devoy’s Lager and Ale, and Guinness is the biggest seller.
The Room
It’s named after the Fenian John Devoy and run by three women: Donna Dobbin, who’s also a part owner of John Doe on Fifth Avenue, Roisin McCooey and Elesha Burke. Downstairs is sage green walls, leather seating and old photographs of Dublin, with outdoor seating out front. It shows sport and runs live music on some Sundays, and it’s loud, even at lunch. Upstairs there’s a private room called The Shebeen. The menu is pub classics: burgers, wings, fish and chips, shepherd’s pie and steaks, with weekend brunch. The weekly nights are Mussels Monday, Taco Tuesday and Wine Down Wednesday.
