McHale's Bar & Grill: A Theater District Irish Pub for Football, Knicks and 4am Fries
McHale’s Bar & Grill, at 251 West 51st Street between 8th Avenue and Broadway, is the Theater District pub you want when the match matters more than the show. It’s an Irish bar with two floors, plenty of TVs, a kitchen that runs until 4am, and a crowd that actually watches the game. Worth it for sports and late food. Don’t come hunting a cheap weekday round, because we couldn’t find one.
The Deal
No posted weekday happy hour. The value play is Sunday Brunch & Bubbles, 11am–4pm: bottomless mimosas or Bellinis for $25 for 90 minutes, or $12 a glass if you’re pacing yourself. The Spicy Bloody Mary is $15, and so is the Irish coffee.
The Food
Proper pub food with Irish touches. The Full Irish is $22 at brunch, and on early match days there’s a Bacon Butty and a Breakfast Burger. Later, Irish Fry Guys (fries with Irish curry sauce) are $12, Donegal Fish & Chips are $27, and the house burger is $20. Wings run $17 for six. None of it is cheap, but it’s Midtown and the kitchen stays open until 4am.
The Room
Dark wood, two floors, screens everywhere. Premier League runs all season with the sound on, Champions League is on too, and college football fills Saturdays. Knicks games get the sound on and drink specials. It also takes holiday parties.
