Blue Anchor JC: $1.50 Oysters, All-Day Wednesday Happy Hour
Blue Anchor runs happy hour all day on Wednesdays, which nobody else in Newport does: $10 cocktails, $5 beer and $8 wine, with $1.50 oysters from 2 to 6pm.
The Happy Hour
Tuesday to Friday 2–6pm, all day Wednesday, and Friday and Saturday 10pm to late, per the bar’s own happy hour menu: $10 signature cocktails (Kiwi Breeze, Born a Star, JC Sunset, martinis classic, lychee, espresso or matcha for $2 more, frosé), $5 beer (Peroni, Blue Moon, Sam Adams, Corona, Coors Light), $8 wine. The food is Tuesday to Friday 2–6pm only: East Coast oysters $1.50 each (minimum four), and any three of eggplant bruschetta, gyoza, sliders, fish tacos, calamari or crab cakes for $27.
The Room
A seafood bar and raw bar on the ground floor of The Beach apartment building, facing Newport Green, open since September 2024. One of its owners runs Komegashi Too. Lobster rolls, a brisket burger, and outdoor seating facing the Hudson in warm weather. Closed Mondays.

The oysters and bites are Tuesday to Friday 2–6pm only. All-day Wednesday is drinks.
