The best Jersey City waterfront happy hours right now are Lokal ($1 East Coast oysters, $7 beer and $10 wine, every day 4–6pm), Hudson & Co. ($7 drafts, $8 wine and $10 espresso martinis at the bar, Mon–Fri 4–7pm) and Blue Anchor in Newport ($1.50 oysters Tue–Fri 2–6pm, and $10 cocktails all day Wednesday). The waterfront is office towers and apartment buildings, so the deals are built for after work: Hudson & Co. and Lokal sit side by side on Second Street at Harborside, a short walk from Exchange Place PATH, and Newport’s best is Blue Anchor on Newport Green. Newport proper is mostly a mall, hotel lounges and restaurants, so the second half of this guide is rooms without a deal: the late pub with comedy, the pier with the view, golf simulators.
