Light Horse Tavern: Paulus Hook’s Historic Tavern
Light Horse Tavern is Paulus Hook’s grown-up dinner room, in an 1850s building that was a Prohibition speakeasy. There’s no happy hour; there’s a tavern menu in the gap between lunch and dinner.
What to Expect
No happy hour. The tavern menu runs Tuesday to Friday 4–5pm and Saturday and Sunday 3:30–5pm, without posted prices.
The Room
Opened in 2002 and named for “Light Horse Harry” Lee of the Battle of Paulus Hook. Brick, wood and a long bar, a few blocks from Exchange Place.
Before You Go
It’s a restaurant first. For a weekday happy hour in Paulus Hook, White Star on Warren Street runs 4–6pm.
