Arriba Arriba: A Ninth Avenue Mexican Restaurant With $8 Frozen Margaritas
Arriba Arriba is a family-owned Mexican restaurant on Ninth Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen, and the happy hour is one drink done one way: a 12-ounce El Papá margarita, $8 frozen or $9 on the rocks. It runs 4 to 6pm Tuesday through Thursday, stretches to 7pm on Monday for Margarita Monday, and starts at noon on Friday, when the restaurant opens for lunch.
The margaritas are what the place is known for — Foursquare has it as the top margarita spot in Hell’s Kitchen — and the kitchen sticks to the traditional side: tacos, enchiladas and carne asada. Brunch runs Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4pm. There’s no weekend happy hour.
The Happy Hour
Happy hour runs Monday 4–7pm, Tuesday through Thursday 4–6pm and Friday noon–6pm. The deal is the 12oz El Papá margarita: $8 frozen, $9 on the rocks. Monday’s extra hour is labeled the Margarita Monday special; the site doesn’t list any other happy-hour drinks or food, so ask your server if you’re after something else. Friday’s six-hour window is the best of the week. Verified on Arriba Arriba’s own site in October 2026.
The Room
Arriba Arriba is at 762 Ninth Avenue, between 51st and 52nd Streets. It opens at 4pm Monday to Thursday (until 11pm), at noon on Friday for lunch and dinner (until midnight), and at noon on weekends for brunch, closing at midnight Saturday and 11pm Sunday. The kitchen and bar close 15 minutes before the posted closing time. Tables can be booked through the restaurant’s site. The C/E at 50th Street is the closest train.
