Bill's Bar & Burger Downtown: $6 Drafts and $24 Pitchers in FiDi, Weekdays 4–7pm
Bill’s Bar & Burger Downtown sits inside the New York Marriott Downtown at 85 West Street, a couple of blocks south of the World Trade Center. Verdict: it’s a big, reliable burger hall, not a destination, but the weekday happy hour at the bar is a genuinely good deal for this stretch of West Street, where the alternatives are hotel lounges and chain coffee.
The Deal
Monday to Friday, 4 to 7pm, bar seats only:
- $6 draft beers (a pint is $9 otherwise)
- $24 pitchers (normally $32)
- $6 classic shakes
- Half off the Snack Attack apps
The pitcher is the move for a group. Four of you, two pitchers and a pile of half-price apps, and nobody’s expensing anything.
The Food
Griddled burgers are the whole point. The Bill’s Burger and the Fat Cat, which got a CNN top-10 burger nod, are $16.99. Mini B’s sliders are $15.99, and the 9oz triple-decker Ultimate Cheeseburger is $21.99 if you’ve given up. Disco fries and onion rings round it out. Shakes come in three sizes, and the 22oz Monster runs $15.99.
The Drinks
Beer is the strength here. Cocktails, like the $14 classic margarita and the $14 old fashioned, are fine but not why you came.
The Room
Big and loud, with gingham-topped wooden tables and the energy of a place that feeds a hotel’s worth of tourists plus the after-work FiDi crowd. It opens at 7am for breakfast, so you can’t say it lacks range.
