One40 Rooftop: A Daily 3–6pm Happy Hour Above the Financial District
One40 Rooftop sits on top of the Club Quarters hotel at 140 Washington Street, just south of the World Trade Center. Rooftops in the Financial District are mostly expense-account territory. This one runs a happy hour every day from 3 to 6pm, which makes it a better after-work option than most. Verdict: worth it for an early sunset round. Leave the hoodie at home.
The Deal
Daily 3–6pm, the happy hour menu covers signature cocktails, wine by the glass, craft beer, bar snacks and small plates, all specially priced. The restaurant doesn’t publish the numbers. It also lists a last call earlier than 6, so turn up closer to 3 than 6. From 3pm to close, weather permitting, there’s a separate outdoor Golden Hour menu.
The Room
A rooftop restaurant and bar with skyline views over the Financial District, and sunset is the time to be there. The dress code is enforced and leans smart: collared shirts, dress shoes or fashionable sneakers. No athletic wear, hoodies, sweatshirts, beachwear or baseball caps.
The Food
The kitchen runs all day. Breakfast starts at 7:30am, there’s lunch on weekdays and brunch on weekends, and dinner brings Wagyu beef, seafood, house-made pasta, charcuterie and raw-bar oysters.
