Space Ping Pong: Table Tennis, Towers and 3am Closing on the 8th Floor in K-Town
Space Ping Pong is an eighth-floor ping pong bar at 22 West 32nd Street, the Koreatown block between Fifth Avenue and Broadway, and it’s a good call for a group that wants something to do besides drink. Find the lobby to the left of the Citibank, ride up, and you’re in a neon room full of tables that stays open until 3am every night. Worth it with six or eight friends. Pricey for two.
What to Expect
No happy hour. The smart move is timing: Sunday–Thursday a table is $39 for the first hour, then $19.50 per extra half hour. Fridays, Saturdays and holidays it’s $49 and $24.50. Each table takes up to eight people, so a full crew splits it down to almost nothing. The catch: a 20% gratuity goes on every check, plus tax.
The Drinks
Most beers are $9. Signature cocktails with ping pong names (Match Point, Smash Serve, Slice Cut) run $15–$19, and there are zero-proof options for $13–$14. Groups go for the towers: a 100-ounce beer tower is $69, the soju cocktail tower is $99. That’s where the night gets expensive.
The Food
Bar food built for sharing between rallies: fries for $11, fried pickles for $13, ramyeon for $13, Buffalo wings for $16, K-Town Loaded Fries for $18 and a $32 Game Night Sampler for two to four.
The Room
Neon, loud and built for groups. Beyond the ping pong tables there’s air hockey, Ice-Ball and a newer game called Neon Rush. It takes private events up to 250 people, from birthdays to team outings.
