Skinner’s Loft is a $25-burger, $58-filet restaurant that sells its tapas for $5 each from 4 to 6pm. That makes it the best food deal on Newark Avenue.
The Happy Hour
Every day it’s open, 4–6pm: Heineken draft $5; Pinot Grigio, a Bordeaux blend, an Old Fashioned, a margarita and spritzes at $10; and $5 tapas: sriracha deviled eggs, marinated olives, fried dill pickles, cheddar corn fritters, buffalo chicken spring rolls, nduja arancini, mortadella, marinated peppers, San Daniele prosciutto and warm sourdough.
The Room
A long-running restaurant on the plaza with a bar on the first floor and the dining room upstairs. The Infatuation has listed it as a downtown date spot. Brunch runs on weekends.
Before You Go
The menu says “daily”, but the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays. The drinks are fair, not cheap. Come for the food.
