Happy hour runs Tuesday to Friday, 5–7pm, and all day Sunday. Elsa states the window on its own site but does not publish a current happy hour list — the menu posted online is a screenshot dated November 2021, so I am not quoting you five-year-old prices. Ask at the bar. Sunday is the move: the deal runs the entire day and the doors open at 3pm.

Elsa: A Cobble Hill Cocktail Bar With Happy Hour Tuesday to Friday and All Day Sunday

Elsa runs happy hour Tuesday through Friday from 5 to 7pm, and all day Sunday. That Sunday window is the find. An all-day happy hour in a good-looking cocktail bar on Atlantic Avenue is not a common thing, and Elsa opens at 3pm on Sundays, which gives you eight hours of it.

Honest caveat before you go: Elsa does not publish current happy hour pricing. The happy hour menu on its own site is a screenshot dated November 2021, and I am not going to put five-year-old numbers on this page and call them a deal. The window is current and comes straight from Elsa. The list you will have to ask for.

The Happy Hour

Tuesday to Friday, 5 to 7pm, plus all day Sunday — that is verbatim from Elsa’s own homepage, and it is the part I can stand behind. What it costs is the gap. The dedicated happy hour page on elsabarnyc.com is a single image, and the file itself is dated November 2021; third-party sites quote figures that contradict each other and also contradict Elsa on the Sunday window. So: turn up, ask what is on the happy hour list, and judge it then. Two practical notes. Elsa is closed Mondays, so Tuesday is the first day of the week you can use this. And reservations run Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday only — Fridays and Saturdays are walk-in, which on Atlantic Avenue means arrive early or stand.

The Room

136 Atlantic, between Clinton and Henry, in the space that used to be Last Exit — a swap that still gets mentioned by people who miss the old room. What replaced it is genuinely well designed: Home Studios did the interior, and it reads as curvy molding, wrought-iron light fixtures and a slightly theatrical, Art Nouveau-adjacent glamour that could easily have tipped into costume and does not. There is a small bar up front and a lot of two-tops, which tells you what it is for. Food is charcuterie and not much else — this is a drinking room, so eat first. Borough Hall (2, 3, 4, 5) and Court St (R) are a few blocks north; Bergen St (F, G) is the other way.

Elsa FAQ

Does Elsa have a happy hour?
Yes — Tuesday to Friday from 5 to 7pm, and all day Sunday, per Elsa’s own site.

What does Elsa’s happy hour cost?
Elsa does not currently publish happy hour prices. The menu posted on its site is a screenshot dated November 2021, so treat any figure you find online as unreliable and ask at the bar.

Does Elsa take reservations?
On Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, through Resy. No reservations Friday or Saturday — those nights are walk-in only.

Is this the same Elsa that was in the East Village?
Same bar, different borough. Elsa moved from East 3rd Street to 136 Atlantic Ave in Cobble Hill in 2018. Listings that still show an East Village address — including a Time Out page titled “Elsa (CLOSED)” — refer to the old location, not this one.
