Hungry rather than thirsty? → The 15 best Greenpoint restaurants

The best Greenpoint happy hour deals right now are Ray’s (happy hour all night, Sunday to Tuesday), Black Rabbit ($6 lager from open until 8pm, daily), TØRST (half price on every beer and wine bottle, weekdays until 6pm), Diamond Lil ($2 oysters, 5–7pm Wed–Fri) and Keg & Lantern ($6 on any draft, weekdays 5–7pm). We re-checked all 17 rooms against their own menus this month, and most of what was on this page was wrong — including three deals that turned out not to exist at all.

Black Rabbit On now

Fireplace, snug booths, back beer garden · 91 Greenpoint Ave $$$
$6 lager, $10 pint + bourbon shot, $10 cocktail du houropen until 8pm
Happy hourMon–Fri 4–8pm

The best-value room in Greenpoint, and we had its prices wrong in both directions. It is not “$7 drinks and $4 pints” — neither number exists. It is $6 for their own lager, $10 for a pint with a bourbon shot, and $10 for a rotating Cocktail Du Hour, and the deal runs from the moment they open until 8pm, every single day. The local move nobody publishes: they open at 2pm on Saturday and Sunday, so the weekend window is six hours long, not four. The room earns it too — a working fireplace, a back beer garden, and private wooden booths with saloon doors on them. Open until 4am Friday and Saturday.

Troost On now

Cocktail bar, negroni and Manhattan on tap · 1011 Manhattan Ave $$$
$9 tap negroni, $2 off cocktails, $1 off beer, $2 off house winetwo hours only
Happy hourDaily 4–6pm

Read the window, because we had it wrong by two hours. We published 4–8pm. It is 4–6pm. At a bar that stays open until 2am, that is exactly the error that strands someone at 7pm with a $16 cocktail. Sorry. The corrected deal is still good: $9 for the tap negroni (not $8), $2 off cocktails and $1 off beers — we had those two backwards and were undersellling the cocktail discount — plus $2 off house wine by the glass or the quartino. The why: a negroni and a rye Manhattan both poured from tap, which is the house trick, at $9 against a $16 list price. Get there at 4.

TØRST On now

21 taps, 200+ bottles, blond-wood beer temple · 615 Manhattan Ave $$$
50% off beer and wine bottles, $6 select cansfrom open
Happy hourMon–Thu 3–6pm

Half price on every beer bottle and every wine bottle is the headline, and we were printing “a third off wine” instead. Not close. Three of the five prices we published were wrong: cocktails are $11.60 not $9, sandwiches $14.70 not $10, and the discount is 50% off bottles, not glasses. The $6 cans are real but only the ones marked on the list. The local move: the window is “from open until 6pm,” and Friday they open at noon — six hours of half-price bottles, which we were never telling anyone about. Honest caveat: those odd cents mean the prices are auto-calculated off list, so they drift. Treat them as close, not carved.

Diamond Lil On now

Pink onyx bar, tin ceilings, garden open daily · 179 Nassau Ave $$$
$2 oysters Wed–Fri, $6 beer, $12 cocktails, $11 winegarden open daily
Happy hourMon–Fri 4–7pm

The cheapest oysters in Greenpoint, and we had buried them behind the words “an oyster deal.” They are $2 each, 5–7pm, Wednesday through Friday — a tighter window than the main happy hour, so read it twice. Against $16 for a half dozen at full price, that is the real find. The drinks window is Mon–Fri 4–7pm: $12 cocktails, $6 beer, $11 wine. We were advertising $6 wine, which was never right. The why: a pink onyx bar, stamped tin ceilings, mosaic floor and velvet stools — and a garden that is open daily, which our old entry never mentioned. Solo-with-a-book territory, not a rowdy room.

Keg & Lantern On now

Brewpub, house taps, open till 4am Fri–Sat · 97 Nassau Ave $$$
$6 any draft, plus a different food-and-draft combo every day$35 pitcher weekends
Happy hourMon–Fri 5–7pm

The only deal on the old page that was completely right, so here is the upgrade instead. $6 for any draft — house brews included, no exclusion list — Monday to Friday 5–7pm. The combos are the part we flattened into “$16–25”. They are a fixed dish on a fixed day: wings Monday, tacos Tuesday, mac and cheese Wednesday, all $16; burger Thursday $20; fish and chips Friday $25. And we left the weekend off entirely. Saturday is a pretzel and a pitcher for $35, Sunday is nachos and a pitcher for $35. Open until 4am Friday and Saturday, dog friendly, trivia and bingo on the calendar.

El Pingüino On now

Tiny wooden booths, sherry, a cartoon penguin · 25 Greenpoint Ave $$$
Half-off oysters, $12 sherry, $12 martini7 days
Happy hourDaily 4–7pm

Half-off oysters, a $12 glass of sherry and a $12 martini, seven days a week. That part we had right. What we had wrong is the late window. We implied the same deal restarts at 10pm. It does not — the 10pm–midnight menu is a completely different list: $10 sardines, a $12 Midori sour, $10 Faccia Brutto Ferrari. Good, but there are no half-price oysters at 10pm and no $12 martini either. The why: a genuinely small room of wooden booths with a transistor radio playing in the bathroom and a cartoon of a wine-drunk penguin over the bar. Doors at 4, closed by midnight.

Broken Land On now

Salvaged movie-theater chandeliers, covered garden · 105 Franklin St $$$
$8 wells and wines, $5 Modelo, $10 frozen piña coladafrom 2pm Tue–Fri
Happy hourTue–Fri 2–7pm

We were advertising $7 pizza squares at a bar that does not serve pizza. There is no pizza anywhere on this menu — the food is fries, mac and cheese, nachos, hummus. The $5 cashews were real but they are regular-menu snacks, not a happy-hour item. And the cocktails are $8 for wells and $12 for martinis, not $7. What is genuinely here: $8 wells, $8 by-the-glass wines, $5 Modelo and Green State cans, $6 Pacifico, $10 frozen piña colada or Aperol spritz, Monday to Friday until 7pm — and Tuesday to Friday that starts at 2pm, which is a five-hour window. Honest caveats, all theirs: order at the bar, no table service; a $50 hold on open tabs; 20% added to tabs left overnight or over $200. The covered back garden has heaters and cannot be reserved.

Greenpoint Fish at Threes On now

Raw bar inside the Threes Brewing taproom · 113 Franklin St $$$
Burger and a beer, $20 — plus an oyster happy hourweekdays
Happy hourMon–Fri 4–6pm

This is the Greenpoint Fish happy hour that actually exists, and it is not at the fish market. It is their counter inside the Threes Brewing taproom on Franklin Street, and it is the only one of their two rooms that publishes a deal: burger and a beer for $20, Mon–Fri 4–6pm, alongside an oyster happy hour in the same window. They do not publish the oyster price, so neither do we. Go Here Instead: the flagship market at 114 Nassau Ave is a genuinely good place to buy fish and eat lobster rolls, but it publishes no happy hour anywhere — see the note in our FAQ about the $1 oysters that everyone, us included, has been repeating. Threes is where the deal is. Book on Resy.

Calexico On now

Cal-Mex, the weekend brunch play · 645 Manhattan Ave $$$
2-for-1 mimosas and bloody marysweekend brunch
Happy hourSat–Sun 11:30am–4pm

The only entry on the old page that was correct on every single element, so it stays exactly as it was. Two-for-one mimosas and bloody marys, Saturday and Sunday, 11:30am to 4pm. The why: a four-and-a-half hour weekend window is rare in this neighborhood, where nearly every good deal is a weekday-only affair that ends at 6 or 7. If you are making a Saturday plan in Greenpoint, this and Black Rabbit’s 2pm weekend start are the two things actually running before evening. Verified on this branch’s own page, not inherited from another Calexico — we checked, because chains are exactly where that error creeps in.

Real windows, prices they will not publish

The happy hour is confirmed, the pricing is not. We publish the window and stop there rather than repeat numbers we cannot source — and in two cases the theme nights are better than the happy hour anyway.

Ray’s On now

Corner of McCarren Park, the long-window bar · 905 Lorimer St $$$
Happy hour ALL NIGHT, Sunday through Tuesdayprices not published
Happy hourSun–Tue all night

The longest happy hour in Greenpoint, and it was not on our page at all. Straight from their own site: happy hour runs all night, Sunday through Tuesday — their words are “all night long. Yes, all night. We didn’t make the rules — actually, we did” — and until 8pm Wednesday through Saturday. What we will not do is print the prices. Ray’s publishes a happy-hour price list for its Lower East Side room, not this one, and the two menus demonstrably differ — cocktails are $16.50 here against $18 there. Copying Manhattan’s numbers across the river is exactly how bad listings happen. The local move: Sunday afternoon. Doors at noon, the deal runs to close, and it is the corner of McCarren Park.

El Born On now

Barcelona tapas, better theme nights than happy hour · 651 Manhattan Ave $$$
Half-price wine bottles Mondays, paella Wednesdays, 2-for-1 gin Thursdaysno Tuesday
Happy hourMon, Wed–Fri 5–6pm

The happy hour is one hour, not two. We published 4–6pm on weekdays; their own calendar says 5–6pm. Turn up at 4:15 and you have simply arrived early. Weekends are 4–5pm, and Tuesday has nothing at all — that odd gap is real, we had it right. We could not source the old prices anywhere, so they are gone. Skip the happy hour and come for the theme nights, which are far better and which we never listed: Monday is 50% off every bottle of wine, 5–10pm. Wednesday is paella — $26 for one, $62 for two, $125 for four, drinks included. Thursday is buy-one-get-one gin and tonics, 5–10pm. A five-hour half-price bottle night beats a sixty-minute happy hour every time.

Good Bar On now

Record listening bar, Klipsch speakers, vinyl nights · 1 Bedford Ave $$$
Weekday happy hour — prices not published4–7pm
Happy hourMon–Fri 4–7pm

The window is solid — Monday to Friday, 4–7pm, corroborated in three places. The prices we published are not. “$15 burger, fries and a beer” and “$8 beer and a shot” appear in no source we can find, and the nearest thing on record is a 2024 write-up quoting $17 for a burger and a beer. Both came off. Their menu is a photograph, so nothing is confirmable until someone calls. The why you go anyway: this is a record listening bar, not a bar with a record player — a curated vinyl library and Klipsch Heresy IIIs, sister room to Good Room next door. Vinyl sessions Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Honest caveat: they describe themselves as sitting on the Greenpoint–Williamsburg line, and 1 Bedford is right on it.

Temkin’s

Cheap dive with pinball, open till 2am · 155 Greenpoint Ave $$$
4–8pm window; the prices we had are two years olddays unconfirmed
Happy hourDays unconfirmed 4–8pm

Every number we published here — $8 for the 25oz Greenpoint Pilsner, $7 mules and Collinses, $5 beer-and-shot — is a word-for-word lift from a single magazine piece dated September 2024. Temkin’s own site is four links and a photograph of a menu. Nothing is first-party. We know the price has already moved once: their own Instagram had that pilsner at $7 in 2022. It was $8 by 2024. It is 2026. And we invented the days. We said “daily.” The source gives no days at all, and one listing says weekdays only. So: the 4–8pm window is probably right, the prices are probably close, and we are not going to pretend either is confirmed. It is a good cheap dive with pinball, open 2pm to 2am. Call first if the price is the point.

The Palace

Barn-sized back room, pool, darts, karaoke · 206 Nassau Ave $$$
Tuesday tap specials — not the BOGO we claimedunconfirmed
Happy hourTue all night

We published “buy one get one on beer and well drinks, Tuesdays, all night.” The Palace publishes no specials at all on its own site, and the single source that exists says only “drink specials on beer taps all Tuesday.” We invented both the mechanic and the well drinks. Corrected to what can actually be sourced. Go for the room, which is the real draw. The front looks like an ordinary bar and then opens into a back space the size of a barn — pool table, dart board, huge communal tables, 4K projectors for big matches. A Palace Café has been on this corner since the 1920s. Karaoke Wednesdays, vinyl DJs Friday and Saturday, service-industry Mondays, and a monthly bingo.

No happy hour we can stand behind

Three rooms whose published deals we could not verify at all, so we pulled them. Worth going to anyway, for reasons that have nothing to do with a discount.

The Moonlight Mile

34 seats, 160+ American whiskeys, free jukebox · 200 Franklin St $$$
No happy hour we can source anywheredeal pulled
Happy hourDaily from 4pm

We were publishing “$1 off beer and wine plus whiskey specials, Mon–Thu 5–7pm” with no source for any of it. Not their site, not their menus page, not their location page, not Time Out. Their published drink list has one set of prices and no happy-hour section. It is gone until someone confirms it by phone. Come anyway, because the whiskey list is the point: more than 160 American whiskeys and a dozen rotating taps in a room with 34 seats, so it fills fast and early. The build-out is the other reason — hundred-year-old hardwood out of an abandoned West Virginia factory, a bar top of yellow pine from a Georgia farmhouse, brick salvaged from a Philadelphia brewery, and upside-down chicken feeders for lights. Free jukebox. Snacks from Ovenly.

Goldie’s Bar

Golden horseshoe bar, backyard, karaoke room · 195 Nassau Ave $$$
Reported weekday deal until 8pm — unconfirmedpool price withdrawn
Happy hourDaily from mid-afternoon

Two corrections here, in opposite directions. We said “$1 pool” — the pool table is real and confirmed by three separate sources, but the price appears in none of them. That was a fabricated-looking specific and it is withdrawn. We also said “no posted happy hour,” and that now looks wrong the other way: a weekday window running until 8pm with roughly $6 margaritas is reported, though only second-hand. Goldie’s has no website, so nothing here is first-party. The why: 1970s off-strip Vegas, done properly — a golden horseshoe bar, tufted leather booths, gold-framed portraits of Sammy Davis Jr. and Dolly Parton bought in Tijuana, and free goldfish crackers. There is a backyard and a private karaoke room. Same owners as Lake Street.

The Brew Inn

Corner pub at Kent St, trivia and karaoke · 924 Manhattan Ave $$$
Deal withdrawn — we could not source it anywheredo not use the old web address
Happy hourDaily from afternoon

Two problems, and the second one matters more than the deal. First: we were advertising a free PBR or Narragansett with a burger or a reuben, plus $5 wells, daily 4–7pm. That appears in no source anywhere, first-party or otherwise. The nearest thing on record is a $12 burger-and-beer combo that cannot be current, since the burger alone is now $21. Withdrawn. Second, and please note this: the bar’s old web address has lapsed and now redirects to an offshore gambling site. Several bar directories still link it. Do not follow it, and we are not linking it here — find them on Instagram at @the_brew_inn instead. The pub itself is open and fine: a corner room at Kent Street with TVs, a regulars crowd, a burger better than the room suggests, trivia and karaoke on Wednesdays.

Greenpoint happy hour: FAQ

What time does happy hour start in Greenpoint?

Most Greenpoint happy hours run between 4pm and 8pm. The earliest real windows are Broken Land, which opens its deal at 2pm Tuesday to Friday, Black Rabbit at 2pm on weekends, and TØRST from noon on Fridays. Ray’s is the outlier — its happy hour runs all night on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Which Greenpoint bar has the longest happy hour?

Ray’s at 905 Lorimer Street, on the corner of McCarren Park. Their own site says happy hour runs all night Sunday through Tuesday, and until 8pm Wednesday through Saturday. The catch is that Ray’s publishes a happy-hour price list for its Lower East Side location but not for Brooklyn, so we list the window and not the prices.

Where can I get cheap oysters in Greenpoint?

Diamond Lil at 179 Nassau Ave runs $2 oysters from 5 to 7pm, Wednesday through Friday only — a tighter window than its 4–7pm drinks happy hour. El Pingüino does half-off oysters daily 4–7pm. Greenpoint Fish also runs an oyster happy hour Mon–Fri 4–6pm, but at its counter inside Threes Brewing on Franklin Street, not at the Nassau Ave market.

Does Greenpoint Fish & Lobster have $1 oyster happy hour?

Not that anyone can source. We published that for a long time and could not verify it: the Nassau Ave market publishes no happy hour anywhere on its own site, and every third-party listing that does mention one says $2, not $1, and disagrees about the days. What is confirmed is the deal at their Threes Brewing counter on Franklin Street — burger and a beer for $20 with an oyster happy hour, Mon–Fri 4–6pm.

Which Greenpoint happy hours run on weekends?

Calexico does 2-for-1 mimosas and bloody marys Saturday and Sunday 11:30am–4pm. Black Rabbit opens at 2pm on weekends and runs its deal until 8pm, so the weekend window is six hours. El Pingüino and Troost both run daily. Keg & Lantern does a pretzel or nachos plus a pitcher for $35 on Saturday and Sunday. Ray’s covers Sunday all night. Almost everything else in Greenpoint is weekdays only.

Which Greenpoint bars have a late-night happy hour?

El Pingüino runs a second window from 10pm to midnight every night, but it is a different menu — $10 sardines, a $12 Midori sour, $10 Faccia Brutto Ferrari — not a restart of the oyster deal. Ray’s runs its happy hour to close on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, which is the closest thing Greenpoint has to a genuine late-night deal. Black Rabbit and Keg & Lantern both stay open until 4am on Friday and Saturday at full price.

What happened to Lobster Joint, The Bounty and Greenpoint Beer & Ale?

All three are gone. Lobster Joint closed permanently in February 2024 after 13 years at 1073 Manhattan Ave; the space is now Bouquet, a natural wine bar that opened in June 2024. The Bounty, at 131 Greenpoint Ave, closed abruptly back in June 2018. Greenpoint Beer & Ale — which began as Dirck the Norseman on N 15th St and ended at 1150 Manhattan Ave — closed in November 2024, and that space is now Scrappleland, a pinball arcade. Do not follow old links to Lobster Joint’s website; the domain has lapsed and now serves spam.

Last updated: August 2026. Every venue on this page was re-checked against its own website this month, and anything we could not source was pulled rather than repeated. Deals and hours change — confirm with the venue before you go. Spot something out of date? Let us know.
