Lelabar runs happy hour daily until 6pm: $12 wine by the glass, $6 beer, $5 cheese & charcuterie, and $3 oysters. The early 6pm cutoff makes it a post-work-before-dinner play — and the small room fills fast, so come early.

Lelabar: A West Village Wine Bar With a Daily Happy Hour and 700 Wines

Lelabar is an intimate, award-winning wine bar at 422 Hudson Street — honored by Wine Spectator nine years running — anchored by an iconic oval bar, with tin ceilings, custom ironwork, and warm candlelight that reads more Paris than New York. Sommeliers work behind the bar, a central chalkboard lists daily pours and flights, and the list runs more than 700 bottles, most available by the glass with a two-glass minimum.

It’s a true wine-lover’s room that also happens to run one of the more generous wine-bar happy hours in the neighborhood.

The Happy Hour

Daily, and a genuine deal for the West Village:

  • Every day, until 6pm (roughly 4–6pm)
  • $12 wine by the glass
  • $6 beer and $5 cheese & charcuterie
  • $3 oysters
  • Come early — the early 6pm cutoff and small room mean it fills fast

The Wine

Over 700 bottles spanning crisp Albariños to aged Barolos, curated by a team of sommeliers happy to guide you. The whole list is available by the glass (with a two-glass minimum), so it’s built for exploration — there’s a daily chalkboard of special pours and flights, and even a playful “mystery wine” challenge. Craft beer is on hand too.

The Food

Small plates designed for pairing — artisanal cheeses, charcuterie, truffle on toast, beetroot carpaccio, pressed sandwiches, chocolate, and seasonal oysters — all prepped at the bar right in front of you.

The Room

A warm, dim, candlelit space that invites lingering. There’s window seating for people-watching, but the point is the oval U-bar facing the sommeliers and the prep area. On Sunday nights, a jazz combo plays from 7:30. It’s one of the West Village’s reliable date-night rooms.
