Happy Hour at Magic Hour Rooftop
Perched 18 floors above Times Square atop the Moxy, Magic Hour is one of Midtown’s most theatrical rooftops, all whimsical topiary, a slowly rotating carousel seating area, and dead-on views of the Empire State Building. It is a Tao Group operation, so expect DJs, a scene, and prices to match once happy hour ends.
The room is 21-and-up at all times except weekend brunch, and there is a fun-casual dress code (no athletic wear). It is a genuine destination rather than a neighborhood haunt, but the early-evening happy hour makes the sunset shift surprisingly reasonable.
The Happy Hour
The happy hour is Monday through Friday, 5 to 6:30pm, served at the bar only: $6 Estrella beer, $8 house wine, and $10 spritzes. Walk-ins are welcome at the bar, so you do not need a reservation to catch it, but the 90-minute window fills fast at golden hour.
