Best Karaoke Bars in NYC
$5 a head to $195 an hour. Get there before 8pm and the price roughly halves.
In karaoke, “happy hour” means a discounted room rate, not a drink special — and the cheap window almost always ends at 8pm.
- 18 verified rooms
- 8 publish a rate
- from $5/person
- latest: 4:30am
The best karaoke in NYC right now is Sing Sing Ave A ($5 per person per hour before 8pm, the cheapest verified room in Manhattan), 100Fun KTV in Sunset Park ($20/hour, and the room fee converts to bar credit), Insa in Gowanus (half price every Wednesday, so a room for ten is $40 an hour), 233 Starr in Bushwick (Tuesdays: two hours booked, third hour free) and Gagopa, the only room on 32nd Street that publishes an hourly rate at all. Two things decide what you pay. First, the clock: in karaoke “happy hour” means a discounted room rate, and the cheap window almost always ends at 8pm. Second, the model — some rooms charge per person per hour and some charge a flat rate for the room, and for a group of ten those are wildly different bills.
The short version

- Best single offer233 Starr on Tuesdays: two hours of room time, third hour free, $4 shots.
- Watch for thisA 20% gratuity is automatic at most of these — and it lands on the room charge, not just the bar tab.
- KoreatownSix rooms on 32nd and 35th St. One publishes a readable rate. Call before you go.

Cheapest rooms and real happy hours
Five rooms that publish a number and cut it before 8pm. More deals in best bars in NYC.
Sing Sing Ave A On now
The cheapest verified private-room rate in Manhattan, and it has a hard edge: $5 per person per hour before 8pm, $10 after. The VIP room for 25–40 goes $125/hour before 8pm and $250 after on Friday and Saturday. Doors are 6pm Mon–Wed and 4pm Thu–Sun, closing at 4am seven nights. Outside food is allowed, outside alcohol is not. The unusual bit: under-21s are welcome from open until 8pm with a legal guardian — almost no karaoke room in the city publishes an under-21 window. The honest caveat: Monday to Wednesday the door does not open until 6pm, so the half-price window is only two hours long those nights.

233 Starr Karaoke & Eats On now
$6 per person per hour for a private room until 8pm, with drinks on happy hour until 9pm — $4 shots, $5 draft, $5 wine, $6 cocktails. The day to come is Tuesday: $4 shots plus two hours of room time gets you a third hour free, which is the single best-value karaoke offer we verified anywhere in the city. Monday is 20% off the room for service industry. Doors 4pm Sun–Thu and 2pm Fri–Sat. The song library is claimed at 250,000 titles updated monthly, the biggest number anyone published. The honest caveat: it shuts at midnight Sunday to Thursday, the opposite of the 4am K-town rooms, and the only room rate published is the happy-hour one.

Insa On now
The best-value private room in Brooklyn on a Wednesday, and it is attached to a real Korean restaurant rather than a corridor of booths. Rooms are $80/hour up to 10 guests and $200/hour up to 20 — and half price all night Wednesday, 5:30pm to midnight, which puts a room for ten at $40 an hour. Booking length is set automatically: 1 hour Wed, Thu and Sun, 2 hours Fri and Sat. The honest caveat, and it is where the bill grows: a 20% gratuity is automatic on every karaoke reservation, and the published damage schedule is real money — $100 for confetti or glitter, $200 per person for going over capacity. Closed Monday and Tuesday.

Karaoke Boho Orchard
$6 per person per hour until 8pm, which is K-town pricing on Orchard Street, and the VIP room is a flat $230/hour regardless of headcount — so a party of 35 pays the same as a party of 15. There is a rotating daily special worth planning around: Monday 25% off the private room, Tuesday $5 draft, Wednesday $6 soju cocktails, Thursday $6 mixed drinks, plus an everyday drinks happy hour to 9pm. The honest caveat, twice: Boho says “open 7 days” and never publishes an opening time, so neither happy-hour window has a confirmed start — and there is a two-hour minimum plus a $40 card deposit to hold a room.

100Fun KTV
The most transparent karaoke pricing in New York, and the cheapest room in the city: $20/hour for the mini room before 6pm Monday to Thursday, off a fully published grid covering 45 private rooms across ten size tiers. The detail nobody else offers: the room fee converts to food and beverage credit dollar for dollar — book a $40 hour and you have $40 to spend at the bar, so the room is effectively free if you were going to drink anyway. Open 2pm to 4am, seven days. The honest caveat: every cheap number on that grid is a weekday afternoon price. The same mini room is $75/hour after 6pm Friday — roughly a 4x swing — and tax plus 20% gratuity go on top.

Koreatown, 32nd Street
The densest karaoke block in the country, and the least transparent. See Koreatown happy hours.
Gagopa Karaoke
Of the six Koreatown and Herald Square rooms we checked, exactly one publishes an hourly rate you can read: this one. $36 per hour plus tax for one to four people, then $9 per person per hour once you hit five. Open to 4am seven nights, from 6:30pm Mon–Thu and 6pm Fri–Sat. Song library published at 20,000-plus English and 10,000 Spanish titles plus Korean, Japanese and Chinese. The honest caveat, and do the arithmetic before you invite people: that $36 flat only covers four. At five it flips to per-person, so ten people is $90 an hour before tax and before a drink. Gagopa publishes no gratuity, minimum or outside-food policy at all.

Chorus Karaoke
4:30am Thursday through Saturday is the latest published karaoke close we found anywhere in New York, and Sunday to Wednesday it still runs to 3am. Three room tiers with published capacities — Standard up to 12, Suites up to 15, VIP Suite up to 35 — plus a separate bar lounge. The age policy is unusually clear: 21+ after 8pm in the rooms, 21+ at all times in the bar lounge, under-21s welcome daily 5–8pm. The honest caveat, and it is the theme of this whole block: Chorus publishes no room rate anywhere, including on the reservations page. You find out what an hour costs when you call. The 20% gratuity is automatic on everything, rooms as well as bar.

Space Karaoke Bar & Lounge
The only 32nd Street room publishing a full menu, but read what it is publishing: packages, not hourly rates. Gold two-hour packages run $390 (up to 10), $700 (up to 20) and $960 (up to 30); Platinum $410 / $760 / $1,090; VIP Diamond is a three-hour minimum at $1,100–$3,200, with an executive room at $5,200. Eleventh floor, open seven days to 3am or later. The local move if you have teenagers: it is 21+ Friday and Saturday, but other nights there is a published “NASA minors package” at $37 per person — one of very few K-town rooms that will take under-21s at all. The honest caveat: $390 for two hours is $195 an hour for the room, before drinks.

Maru Karaoke Lounge
Rooms across the third and fourth floors of 11 W 32nd St, running to 4am Friday and Saturday. The one thing Maru publishes that its neighbours do not is a door policy: “21+ with Proper ID & Attire.” Almost nothing else on this block states a dress code, so if you are coming from somewhere casual, that is worth knowing before you climb three flights. The honest caveat, and it is blunt: the site carries hours, an address, a phone number and that door policy, and not one price — no rate, no capacity, no gratuity, no minimum, no outside-food rule. And Sunday to Wednesday it closes at 2am, so it is not the late option those nights.

Private rooms outside K-town
The East Village, West Village, Herald Square and Flushing options. Pair with best Korean restaurants.
Sing Sing Karaoke St Marks
A flat $10 per person per hour with no weekend, peak or late-night markup published anywhere, which after a page full of rates that quadruple after 6pm is genuinely refreshing. Rooms take 3 to 40 guests, open 6pm to 4am seven nights. Outside food is allowed and outside drink is not — and there is no food menu at all, which is why. The honest caveat, and it applies to every per-person room on this page: that $10 is before NYC tax and an automatic 20% gratuity, so four people for one hour lands north of $52 before anyone orders a drink. Price the gratuity in from the start and you will not be surprised at the end.

WEST4 Karaoke Boho
The only real private-room karaoke in the West Village, open 4pm to 4am weekdays and from 2pm at weekends — that 2pm Saturday open is the earliest room time in Manhattan and the reason to know about it. $10 per person per hour plus tax, with an automatic 20% gratuity on the whole bill. Song library published at 20,000-plus English and 10,000 Spanish plus Japanese and Chinese. Sister room to Karaoke Boho on Orchard Street. The honest caveat: there is a three-person minimum, so a duet gets billed as three — $30/hour plus tax plus 20% — and unlike Orchard Street there is no published happy-hour rate here. Strict 21+, no under-21 window.
west4karaoke.com · See our West Village happy hours
Karaoke Duet 35
The most permissive outside-food policy in the category and the most restrictive songbook. Duet explicitly welcomes outside food and tells you to bring your own plates and forks — while banning outside drink outright. Rooms run Small (2–3), Medium (4–8), Large (10–15) and Party (up to 40). Two-hour minimum on advance bookings, one hour walk-in. Three locations, all closed Mondays. Two honest caveats: the songbook is English only — Duet says it only takes requests for songs in English, so this is the wrong room for a K-pop or reggaeton night — and gratuity is tiered by headcount: 15% at 8–12 people, 18% at 13–20, 20% at 21-plus.
karaokeduet.com · See our Midtown happy hours
Radio Star Karaoke
Ten named rooms, every one with a published capacity and none with a published price. The useful outlier is The Duet, sized 1–5 guests — a room explicitly built for a solo singer or a couple, in a category that prices and sizes almost entirely for groups. At the other end, The Radio takes 25–45, the largest single-room capacity published outside the Flushing and Sunset Park KTVs, and there is a 50–75 capacity bar alongside. The honest caveat, and it corrects a lot of listings: Radio Star gets called a late-night spot constantly, and it is one only on Friday and Saturday. Sunday it closes at midnight and Monday at 1am.

9Plus KTV & Party Lounge
Open 2pm to 4am, seven days — matching the 4am close of the Koreatown rooms and beating almost all of Manhattan on the afternoon open — with more than twenty deluxe rooms including three top-tier suites, one block off Main Street in downtown Flushing. The honest caveat, stated plainly: 9Plus publishes hours, an address and two phone numbers and nothing else. No rates, no per-room capacities, no policy on gratuity or outside drink. Get a written quote before you show up with twelve people. If you want a published grid in an outer borough, that is 100Fun KTV in Sunset Park. Sing to the room, not a booth
Bar karaoke, a live pianist and a real band. More in best dive bars in NYC. Every one of these is free to sing, and there are 28 more bar karaoke rooms across the city where nobody rents a booth.
Sid Gold’s Request Room On now
The best room in the city for someone who hates karaoke: there is no backing track and no screen. A live piano player works behind you and you pick from a request book, in an open bar room rather than a booth. Piano runs 6pm–1am Thursday and Friday and 9pm–1am on other nights. Happy hour is $2 off wine and well drinks. Capacity is limited and the venue tells you to reserve online. The honest caveat, and we are printing the conflict rather than picking the flattering side: the site lists happy hour as Wed–Fri 5–7pm on the same page that lists Wednesday doors at 7pm. We have printed Thursday and Friday only. Closed Sundays.

Alligator Lounge
The pizza oven is why most people know it and the karaoke is why they stay: singing to the room at 10pm Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, 11pm Saturday, with free pizza every day attached to your drink and a 4am close seven nights (1pm open at weekends). There is a separate back room for party bookings. Two honest caveats: there is no karaoke Monday or Tuesday — two of seven nights are dead for singing and a lot of guides do not say so — and the free-pizza terms are nowhere on the site, so ask at the bar what a drink actually gets you before you plan dinner around it.
alligatorloungebrooklyn.com · See our Williamsburg happy hours
Iggy’s
Open 1pm to 4am, every day — fifteen hours, seven days, the longest karaoke day published anywhere in New York, with singing nightly in the back room. There is also a published private-party rate that is quietly one of the better deals in this guide: $45 for a three-hour open bar (beer, liquor and wine) during any three-hour block between 3pm and 10pm. The honest caveat: the karaoke start time is never published — the site says nightly, in the back, and leaves it there. Call ahead if you are building a night around it rather than dropping in. More of the neighborhood in our Upper East Side happy hours guide.
Arlene’s Grocery
The city’s original live-band karaoke: a real band on a real stage behind you, not a backing track and not a piano. When it runs it is Tuesdays, 8–11pm with sign-ups from 7:30, ticketed at $10 presale or $15 on the door. The bar is open 5pm Mon–Fri and 4pm at weekends. The honest caveat, and it is the reason this sits last rather than higher: Arlene’s has started and stopped this night more than once — there has been a “last show” and a revival — and the venue’s own 2026 calendar does not list a recurring karaoke night at all. Our times come from a mid-2025 listing. Call before you go.
NYC karaoke: FAQ
How much does karaoke cost in NYC?
Between $5 per person per hour and about $195 an hour for a room, depending entirely on when you go. The floor is Sing Sing Ave A at $5 per person per hour before 8pm; 233 Starr in Bushwick and Karaoke Boho on Orchard Street both run $6 a head before 8pm. The cheapest flat room rate is 100Fun KTV in Sunset Park at $20/hour for a mini room before 6pm Monday to Thursday. At the top, Space Karaoke’s cheapest package is $390 for two hours up to ten people, which is $195 an hour for the room. Only 8 of the 18 rooms verified for this guide publish a rate at all.
Is karaoke cheaper before 8pm in NYC?
Yes, and it is usually the single biggest lever on the bill. Sing Sing Ave A charges $5 per person per hour before 8pm and $10 after – the rate doubles on the dot. 233 Starr and Karaoke Boho Orchard both run $6 a head until 8pm. 100Fun KTV’s entire grid roughly halves before 6pm on weekdays; its mini room is $20/hour before 6pm Monday to Thursday and $75/hour after 6pm on a Friday. In this category, ’happy hour’ means a discounted room rate rather than a drink special.
Do NYC karaoke bars add a service charge?
Most of them, and it lands on the room charge as well as the drinks – which is the cost most people miss. A 20% automatic gratuity applies at Chorus (stated as ’included on all bills – bar and rooms’), Sing Sing St Marks, WEST4, Insa and 100Fun KTV. Karaoke Boho Orchard adds 18%. Karaoke Duet scales it by headcount: 15% for parties of 8-12, 18% for 13-20 and 20% for 21 or more. Budget the gratuity from the start: four people for an hour at $10 a head lands north of $52 before anyone orders a drink.
Can you bring your own food or drink to karaoke in NYC?
Food often yes, drink almost never – the opposite of what people assume. Sing Sing St Marks, Sing Sing Ave A and Karaoke Duet all explicitly allow outside food and explicitly ban outside alcohol, and Duet goes as far as telling you to bring your own plates and forks. Sing Sing St Marks has no food menu at all, which is why. Chorus bans both outright, stating ’no outside food or drinks’. Insa publishes a damage schedule that makes bringing your own liquor an expensive idea.
Which NYC karaoke bars are open latest?
Chorus in Koreatown publishes the latest close in the city at 4:30am Thursday through Saturday. A 4am close seven nights is standard at Gagopa, Sing Sing St Marks, Sing Sing Ave A, WEST4, 100Fun KTV, 9Plus KTV in Flushing, Alligator Lounge and Iggy’s – and Iggy’s opens at 1pm, giving it the longest karaoke day in the city. Radio Star is widely listed as a late-night spot but only runs to 4am on Friday and Saturday; on Sunday it closes at midnight.
