Best Mini Golf in NYC
New York has twelve real mini golf courses. Here they all are, plus what to do instead.
No happy hours in mini golf — but the age gates are all different, and three of these courses shut for the winter.
- 12 real courses
- 4 simulator bars
- from free
- to $32
New York City has twelve genuine mini golf courses. That is the whole list, and this guide has all of them. The best right now are Turtle Cove on City Island ($9 for 18 lit holes, with beer on site), Brooklyn Crab in Red Hook (free, at a real bar), Shipwrecked (18 indoor holes and putters with drink holders built in), Pier 25 (Manhattan’s only outdoor 18, walk-in only) and Flushing Meadows, where the last tee is midnight from May to October. Two things to check before you go. The age gate — Swingers is 21+ by default, Puttery goes 18+ at 6pm, Shipwrecked goes 21+ on Thursdays — and the season, because three of the twelve close for the winter and none of them publishes the reopening date.

Real mini golf courses
Outdoor, 18 holes, and priced like a park rather than a bar. More outdoors in best outdoor bars in NYC.
Turtle Cove Golf Center On now
The cheapest paid 18-hole round in New York City: $9 for adults, $8 for kids twelve and under, published on the operator’s own rates page. The course is lit for night play, which most outdoor courses in the city are not, and Tony’s Place Cafe serves beer and wine (21+ with ID) — the range even sells a jumbo bucket with a tap beer for $25. Range buckets run $12 / $16 / $21, Toptracer bays from $25 an hour. The honest caveat, and it is a timing trap: the cashier does not open until 9am even though the gates open at 7, and last sale is 9:30pm. Turn up at 9:45 and you are not playing.
Pier 25 Mini Golf
Manhattan’s only genuine 18-hole outdoor mini golf course, on a public pier in Hudson River Park, with waterfalls, streams, a pond, foot bridges, sand traps and a cave. $15 for thirteen-and-over, $7 for twelve-and-under, open 9am to 9pm. No reservations, ever — both the park and the operator say walk-ins only, with groups of 20-plus asked to call. Under-12s must be with an adult; no dogs on the course. Two honest caveats: every hour is weather-permitting, so a wet afternoon shuts it with no notice — and the two official pages disagree on price. Hudson River Park’s older page still says $5. Budget $15 a head, not $5. No bar; this is a community facility.

Flushing Meadows Golf Center
Last tee is midnight. From May to October the first tee is 8am and the last is midnight, lights out at 1am — which makes this the only mini golf course in New York City you can start at 11:59pm, and a genuinely useful fact for anyone whose evening has gone sideways. $11.50 adults, $9 seniors 62-plus and kids twelve and under, with ball and club rental included in the price, which several courses charge extra for. Eighteen outdoor holes, walk-in. The honest caveat: the off-season schedule is completely different — from late October to early May the first tee is 9am and the course closes at dusk. No bar; drink afterwards.

Staten Island FunPark
The only real mini golf course anywhere on Staten Island, and it is one of the cheapest in the city: $7–$9 a person for eighteen outdoor holes, with go-karts at $9 and batting at $3.50 for fifteen pitches on the same lot — plus nine outdoor cages, an 800-foot kart course and a hockey rink. That combination makes it the best-value afternoon for a group of teenagers in the five boroughs. The honest caveat, and it is two things: it shuts for the winter (roughly mid-March to October) and nobody publishes the reopening date, and the venue has no website of its own — a Facebook page is the only first-party source. Call before you take the ferry.

Indoor courses with a bar attached
Where the golf is the excuse and the bar is the business. See also NYC shuffleboard bars.
Shipwrecked Miniature Golf
The best-designed drinking course in New York, and the detail that proves it: the putters have drink holders built into them. Drinks bought on site can be carried onto all eighteen indoor holes, spread across four themed areas with theatrical scenery, lights and sound. $21.99 for thirteen-and-over, $16.99 for twelve-and-under, free under two. Reservations are strongly encouraged but not required. Two honest caveats, and both waste trips: it is closed Tuesday and Wednesday, and Thursday splits the day — all ages noon to 6pm, then 21+ from 7pm to 11pm. Check the day before you head to Court Street.
Swingers Crazy Golf NoMad
The only mini golf in the five boroughs that is 21+ by default, and the ratio tells you what it actually is: six cocktail bars and four street-food vendors around three indoor courses, styled as a 1920s English clubhouse. From $23 a head for daytime and late-night slots, from $28 at evening peak; kids’ tickets $18 and usable only in Family Sessions. A booking is a 30-minute slot playing nine holes, with groups teeing off every five minutes — arrive fifteen minutes early. The honest caveat, and read it before you bring anyone under 21: Family Sessions are Fridays before 6:30pm, Saturdays before 4pm, and all day Sunday and Monday. Outside those windows, nobody under 21 gets in.

Puttery NYC
The most expensive round in this guide and the most predictable: $32 per adult and $15 per kid, the same rate on a Tuesday afternoon as a Saturday night — no weekend surcharge, which nothing else in the indoor bar-golf category can say. Two themed nine-hole courses, the Lodge and the Museum, with a full craft cocktail bar and a scratch kitchen. Walk-ins are always welcome, and Tock reservations open 21 days ahead. Open to 1am Friday and Saturday. The honest caveat, and note the number carefully: it goes 18+ after 6pm — not 21+, which is unusual for this format but still a hard stop if you are bringing kids. Get there before six or leave them at home.

Free, cheap, and built for kids
Including the only free course in the city. Pair with best cheap eats in NYC.
Brooklyn Crab
The only free mini golf in New York City attached to an actual bar — confirmed in the restaurant’s own FAQ: “Yes, mini golf is free.” No ticket, no time slot, no reservation. Just a putter and a drink at a tri-level seafood shack in Red Hook with outdoor seating and harbour views, open since 2012, with shuffleboard and cornhole on site too. Time Out counted eight holes back in 2015; the venue publishes no count. The honest caveat: it runs spring and summer only and the venue never publishes the season dates, so call before you go in April or October. And it is a restaurant amenity rather than a course — if there is a wait for tables, there is a wait for the putters.
Rocket Park Mini Golf (NYSCI)
The only mini golf course in the city where the theme is astrophysics, and it is not a gimmick: nine holes in the shadow of the real NASA rockets in NYSCI’s Rocket Park, each one demonstrating a principle — escape velocity, gravity, the laws of motion. $6 for adults and $5 for children and seniors, recommended for ages six and up. It sits inside Flushing Meadows Corona Park, a short walk from the Flushing Meadows course, so you can play both in an afternoon. Two honest caveats: it runs April to November only, and the $6 is on top of general museum admission — so the real cost of a round is admission plus six dollars.

Jewish Children’s Museum Mini Golf
Genuinely unlike anything else on this page: a full-size six-hole indoor course on the fifth floor where each hole is a stage of Jewish life — a bris, a baby naming, a Bar Mitzvah, a wedding — built to teach as you play. Open year-round, indoors, so it works in February when half this list is shut. It is included with museum admission rather than sold as a round; admission was listed at $15, $12 for seniors. The honest caveat, stated plainly: it is six holes inside a children’s museum. No bar, no alcohol, closed Saturdays and on Jewish holidays, and you pay admission rather than a green fee. It is on this list because it is a real indoor course, not because you can drink on it.

Brooklyn Go Karts & Mini Golf
Eighteen outdoor holes beside a 24-kart track, walking distance from the Coney Island-Stillwell Ave stop on the D, F, N and Q — which makes it the easiest full-size course in the city to reach without a car, and a natural add-on to a boardwalk day. A beer garden is advertised on the operator’s own site, though that page still says under construction. The honest caveat, and it is three separate problems: nobody publishes the price, the hours differ between the operator’s own site and every listing of it, and two sources give two different street numbers. Call before you travel. If you want a published price at this end of Brooklyn, there is not one.

Alley Pond Golf Center
Open 6am to 11:59pm, seven days — the longest trading day of any golf facility in the five boroughs — with a restaurant and bar serving 6am to 11:30pm and beer listed at $7, which no other course here offers. The driving range is first-come, first-served with no reservation, and there are indoor simulator rooms alongside. Out at the Queens/Nassau line; you want a car. The honest caveat, and it is why this sits last in the section: the operator’s own site never itemises the mini golf course or its price — it leads with the range, the bar and the simulators. Every third-party guide lists eighteen holes. Call and confirm the course still exists before you drive out.

Not mini golf: the simulator bars
Full-swing screens, not putting courses — labelled honestly. More in NYC gaming cafes.
Golfzon Social Brooklyn On now
The cheapest published simulator time in Brooklyn, and it is a genuine published rate rather than a vague happy hour: $35 an hour Monday to Thursday, 10am to 4pm, against $69–$99 an hour at peak. A third rate, $49/hour, covers Fri–Sat after 9pm and Sunday after 6pm. The bar publishes specials too — $5 drafts and $20 beer buckets — and walk-ins are always welcome. Open to midnight Friday and Saturday. The honest caveat, twice: this is a simulator bar, not mini golf — you hit full shots into a screen — and the price roughly triples at 4pm on a weekday. The entire value of this place lives inside that 10am–4pm window.
Five Iron Golf Flatiron
Seven NYC locations — FiDi, Flatiron, Grand Central, Herald Square, Long Island City, Rockefeller Center and the Upper East Side — which makes it the one on this page you can almost always get to. Full restaurant and bar with signature cocktails and local drafts, open from 6am on weekdays and to 1am Friday and Saturday. The reason to know about it is the Sunday policy: kids play free. No 21+ hours are published at this location. The honest caveat, twice: it is a simulator bar, not mini golf — if you want to putt a themed course with a drink in hand, go to Shipwrecked, Swingers or Puttery instead — and the hourly rate is only visible inside the booking flow.
fiveirongolf.com · See our Flatiron happy hours
X-Golf Brooklyn
The clearest age policy of any golf venue in this guide, and one worth planning around: all ages welcome, with youth club rentals and child-friendly food and drink — and “we are 21+ after 10pm,” stated plainly on their own site. That makes it the rare Williamsburg room that works for a family at 6pm and a night out at 11. Closing is 10pm Sun–Tue, midnight Wed–Thu and 2am Friday and Saturday. Full bar, with named spirits partnerships. Bookings open seven days ahead. The honest caveat: simulators, not mini golf — and the hourly rate is published only as an image, so there is no readable price anywhere. A late family booking will get turned around at the door.
xgolfbrooklyn.com · See our Williamsburg happy hours
Chelsea Piers Golf Club
Fifty-two heated, weather-protected stalls across four floors, hitting out over the Hudson, open 7am to midnight every single day — which makes it the most weather-proof golf in the city and the reason it stays busy in January. Simulators and practice areas alongside, and the Water Hazard Bar + Lounge handles cocktails, draft beer and small plates. Book a bay online. Two honest caveats: it is a driving range, not mini golf, and bay pricing is only shown inside the booking flow — there is no rate card. More oddly, the venue’s own FAQ asks whether there is an age requirement and then never answers it, so call ahead if you are bringing anyone underage.

NYC mini golf: FAQ
How many mini golf courses are there in NYC?
Twelve, verified against each venue’s own site in August 2026. Three in Manhattan (Pier 25, Swingers NoMad, Puttery), four in Brooklyn (Shipwrecked, Brooklyn Crab, Brooklyn Go Karts, the Jewish Children’s Museum), three in Queens (Flushing Meadows, Rocket Park at NYSCI, Alley Pond), one in the Bronx (Turtle Cove) and exactly one on Staten Island (Staten Island FunPark). Two courses closed recently and are still listed as open in current guides: Randall’s Island Golf Center, whose concession went to a full rebuild, and Putting GREEN on the Williamsburg waterfront. That is 54 holes gone.
How much does mini golf cost in NYC?
From free to $32. Brooklyn Crab in Red Hook is free, confirmed in its own FAQ. The cheapest paid 18 holes is Turtle Cove on City Island at $9 ($8 for kids). In between: Rocket Park at NYSCI is $6 plus museum admission, Staten Island FunPark $7-$9, Flushing Meadows $11.50, Pier 25 $15, Shipwrecked $21.99, Swingers from $23 and Puttery $32. Indoor bar-golf averages around $26 a head against roughly $10.60 for the traditional outdoor courses – so the bar is most of what you are paying for.
Which NYC mini golf places are 21+?
Three venues gate by age and all three do it differently, so read carefully. Swingers NoMad is 21+ by default at all times, with under-21s admitted only during Family Sessions – Fridays before 6:30pm, Saturdays before 4pm, and all day Sunday and Monday. Puttery is all ages until 6pm and then 18+ – not 21+ – after. Shipwrecked in Red Hook is all ages except Thursday, which runs all ages from noon to 6pm and 21+ from 7pm to 11pm. Of the simulator bars, X-Golf Brooklyn goes 21+ after 10pm.
Which NYC mini golf courses are open in winter?
The indoor ones: Shipwrecked in Red Hook, Swingers NoMad, Puttery in the Meatpacking District and the Jewish Children’s Museum course in Crown Heights all run year-round, as do all four simulator bars. Flushing Meadows stays open year-round weather permitting but switches to a dusk close from late October. Brooklyn Crab, Staten Island FunPark and Rocket Park at NYSCI all shut for the season – and only Rocket Park publishes its dates (April to November). Nobody else publishes a reopening date, so call in early spring.
Where can you drink while playing mini golf in NYC?
Shipwrecked in Red Hook is the best-designed for it – drinks bought on site can be carried onto the course and the putters have drink holders built in. Swingers NoMad has six cocktail bars around three courses and is 21+ by default. Puttery has a full craft cocktail bar and scratch kitchen. Brooklyn Crab has a full bar and the golf is free. Turtle Cove on City Island serves beer and wine at Tony’s Place Cafe, 21+ with ID, and sells a jumbo range bucket with a tap beer for $25.
