Zero-Proof Bars in NYC
At Superbueno, taking the alcohol out saves you exactly two dollars. That is the category.
Only two of these run a happy hour that touches the zero-proof list — and at Superbueno the NA drinks are explicitly included.
- 18 verified venues
- 8 publish NA prices
- from $8
- to $21
The best mocktails in NYC right now are at Bar Goto on the Lower East Side (N/A drinks $10–$15 against $17–$19 alcoholic — the widest discount in the city), Golden Ratio in Clinton Hill (nine zero-proof drinks, one of them $8), Bar Contra on Orchard (winner of NYC’s first Best Bars for NA Awards), No More Cafe in the East Village (every signature $14) and Superbueno, whose happy hour explicitly includes the NA list. Here is the number that explains the whole category: at Superbueno the Mole Negroni Sin Alcohol is $20.50 and the alcoholic version is $22.50. Two dollars is what the alcohol costs you. Only two bars verified here actually charge meaningfully less for going without.
The short version

Where zero-proof actually costs less
Four venues that do not charge you full freight for going without. More in best cocktail bars in NYC.
Bar Goto
The only bar in this research that meaningfully rewards you for going without, and it publishes the numbers: four N/A drinks at Kimino Ume $10, Negroni Spritz N/A $12, Shiso Collins N/A $13, Suze Tonic Zero $15 — against alcoholic cocktails at $17–$19. That is a real $5–$7 saving, and nowhere else verified comes close. The Kimino Ume is sparkling Japanese mineral water with Wakayama plum and no added sugar; the Negroni Spritz is the one to order. There is also a $14 Beer & Shot that can be built with an N/A amaro. The honest caveat: four drinks is a short list, and two of them are essentially a spritz and a soda.
No More Cafe
One flat price across the whole list: every signature non-alcoholic cocktail is $14, which after a page of $20.50 zero-proof negronis is a genuine relief. Eight named drinks — Island Echo, Agave Phantom, Visions of Ruby, Amber Dream, Nocturnal Mystery, Ginger Reflection, Silver Veil and Olive Mirage, the savory one on an otherwise fruit-forward list and the order to make. All made in-house, alongside specialty coffee, loose-leaf tea and functional shots. Open noon to midnight, seven days — the longest daily window of any alcohol-free room here. The honest caveat: the site lists “beer and wine” without clearly stating those are also non-alcoholic. Confirm before you call it 100% AF.

Katana Kitten On now
A fixture on world’s-best-bar lists that does the decent thing on pricing: two dedicated NA builds — Chelsioso $17 (NA agave spirit, amazake, Vita Coco orgeat, ginger, lime, toasted coconut) and Chiki Sake $16 with Seedlip — against an alcoholic list at $19.50–$23. Several other cocktails are starred as non-alcoholic available on Seedlip Garden, Notas de Agave or Spice, including the Shiso Gin & Tonic and Yokocho Paloma. Happy hour runs Mon–Fri 4–6pm, cocktails $12–$15, snacks around $8. The honest caveat: the happy hour menu does not say whether that pricing extends to the NA drinks. Assume it does not until the bar confirms it.
Golden Ratio
Nine zero-proof drinks, itemized and priced, which almost nobody in this category does: Purple Shiso, Fir, Mandarin, Bergamot, Pineapple Guava, Green Almond and Licorice Root at $16, Sapodilla $15, and Pine at $8 — pine nut, lactose, lemon, and the cheapest verified zero-proof cocktail found anywhere in this research. Order the Purple Shiso: shiso, bread, lime. The bread is not a typo, it is the point. Time Out’s line is that every drink can be ordered with or without alcohol and both get equal attention. The honest caveat: that also means you pay the same either way — the fairest policy in the city or the most annoying, depending on your view. Closed Mon–Tue.

Alcohol-free bars and cafes
Entirely zero-proof rooms, day and night. See also best coffee in NYC.
Soft Bar
The most serious kitchen pedigree in the alcohol-free category: the drinks program is built by Richard Millwater, formerly of Eleven Madison Park, using premium NA spirits plus functional botanicals including ashwagandha and reishi. Nine soft cocktails and six specialty cafe drinks; order the Tonka Noir, the espresso-martini build, or the Garden Party. Entirely alcohol-free, open since September 2025, Tue–Sat 8am–10pm and Sun 8am–7pm — a coffee shop by day and a bar at night, which is the right shape for this category. The honest caveat: the widely quoted $12–$16 range comes from The Infatuation, not the venue’s own menu, which publishes ingredients and no prices. Closed Mondays.
soft-bar.com · See our Greenpoint happy hours
Mockingbird
Park Slope’s first entirely alcohol-free cocktail bar, and the drink builds are real work rather than juice and syrup: the Perennial Tonic (Abstinence Cape Floral, Antidote Deep Red, rhubarb, lemon, egg white, tonic, rhubarb bubble), The Herbalist with a house-made gentian aperitif, and The Nightshift on Three Spirit Nightcap and lapsang souchong. Food too — truffle popcorn, charcuterie, flatbreads, weekend brunch — plus sober social programming and trivia nights. The honest caveat, and it is a planning problem: it is a daytime cafe Monday to Wednesday (9am–4pm) and only a bar Thursday onward. And no prices are published anywhere, by the venue or in press.
mockingbird.nyc · See our Park Slope happy hours
Kosmic Community Anti Bar
The one room here not pretending to be a cocktail bar, and it is better for it: it describes itself as an anti-bar, and the drinks list reads accordingly — Nitro Coffee Cream Soda, homemade ginger ale, cherry jalapeño limeade, sparkling ashwagandha, plus craft NA beer from Athletic Brewing and Go Brewing, coffee, herbal teas, fruit presses and kava. The genuinely useful part is the hours: Friday and Saturday until 2am, which almost no alcohol-free room in the city manages, and which makes it a real late option rather than a daytime one. The honest caveat: no prices published, two conflicting sets of hours in circulation, and the venue’s own site never states outright that it is alcohol-free.

The serious programs at cocktail bars
Award-winning zero-proof lists inside rooms that also serve alcohol. Pair with best wine bars.
Bar Contra
The most technically ambitious zero-proof program verified anywhere in this research, and it won the top spot in New York’s first Best Bars for NA Awards on the strength of it: seasonal produce, house ferments and clarified builds rather than juice and syrup. Four NA cocktails — Schisandra, PearFecto!, Better Living (grapefruit, cream syrup, champagne acid, described as a bracing melted creamsicle) and one more. The honest caveat, and it is the sharpest version of this whole page’s problem: every cocktail here is $21, alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike — the highest verified NA price in the city. The craft justifies the technique. Whether it justifies the number is your call. Closed Sundays.

Superbueno On now
The headline number of this entire category, and it is one bar charging itself: the Mole Negroni Sin Alcohol is $20.50 and the alcoholic Mole Negroni is $22.50. Two dollars is what the alcohol costs you. Four NA cocktails on the regular list — Mole Negroni Sin Alcohol $20.50, La Shammami $20.50, Chamoy Gimlet $17.50, Michela-Na $15.50. Best New U.S. Cocktail Bar at the 2024 Spirited Awards; No. 2 on North America’s 50 Best. The move, and it is the whole reason this ranks: the La Buena Hora happy hour explicitly includes the NA drinks — Michela-Na falls to $12.50, the negroni and gimlet to $15.50. Go in the window or the math stops making sense.

Clemente Bar
The most complete zero-proof offer in New York, and it is at the Eleven Madison Park address: the five-course Studio tasting menu offers a fully non-alcoholic pairing option — a pairing built for the menu rather than a swap-in for people who are not drinking, which is a meaningful distinction and almost nobody else attempts it. There is a dedicated soft cocktails list too: Kalimotxo (Everleaf Mountain, clarified whey, cola spices), Apium Elixir (Seedlip Grove, house N/A Chartreuse, celery, lime), Proxy Fizz. They make their own N/A Chartreuse in house, which is the detail that separates a real program from a Seedlip-and-tonic gesture. The honest caveat: no prices published, and this is a NoMad tasting-menu room.
clementebar.com · See our NoMad happy hours
Oddball
Three named zero-proof cocktails — Far Side, Infinite Loop and Cloud Chamber — all house-crafted, and the venue states plainly that its NA drinks get the same conceptual clarity and technical attention as the spirited cocktails. That sentence is the difference between a real program and a token section, and Time Out singled the room out in January 2026 for punchy in-house NA drinks in a cosy, slightly sci-fi bar. The honest caveat, and check before you walk over: it is open Wednesday to Saturday only, 5pm to 1am — closed Sunday through Tuesday — and no prices are published on the site or anywhere in press.
oddballnyc.com · See our East Village happy hours
Sunken Harbor Club
Tiki is the format zero-proof was waiting for, and this is the room that proves it: the category leans on fruit, spice and acid rather than the spirit, so a drink loses less by losing the rum than a negroni does. On the second floor above Gage & Tollner, named a winner in New York’s inaugural Best Bars for NA Awards in 2025, and one of very few award-winning NA programs outside Manhattan. Walk-in only, no reservations. The honest caveat, and we would rather flag it than pad the entry: we could not verify prices or a published NA drink list — the venue’s site was unreachable across multiple attempts. Everything here rests on the awards listing and the format.
Dante
A cafe on MacDougal since 1915, reimagined as an aperitivo bar in 2015 and named World’s Best Bar in 2019 — and it pours NA spirits from Seedlip and Lyre’s into three named drinks: the NOgroni, an NA spritz, and a spirit-free espresso martini built on orange juice and vanilla, which almost nobody else in the city attempts. Open Mon–Fri noon–1am and from 10am at weekends. The honest caveat, because this catches people out: the advertised $10 Negroni Sessions between 3 and 5pm is an alcoholic-cocktail special — nothing on the published menu says the NA drinks are included. Do not turn up expecting a $10 NOgroni.
Restaurants with a zero-proof list
One excellent, one honest about being thin. More in best restaurants in NYC.
Public Records
The Atrium menu carries a dedicated Zero-Proof section of fully constructed spirit-free cocktails — Palomar (NA mezcal, elderflower cordial, spiced grapefruit shrub, lemon balm, soda) and Not For Rita among them — alongside house-made shrubs and cheongs, which is where the program earns its keep. A plant-based restaurant and hi-fi listening room, open since April 2019. The genuinely useful fact: Friday and Saturday run to 4am, the latest verified NA-serving room in this set. The honest caveat: the menu publishes drink names and ingredients but no prices at all, zero-proof or spirited, and it is closed Monday and Tuesday. More on the room in our best listening bars guide.
Bangkok Supper Club
The cocktail program is run by Suwincha “Chacha” Singsuwan and the one published zero-proof drink is genuinely good — Beets ‘N’ Cream, Seedlip infused with beets, shaken with mango, honey and lemon and topped with a cream cheese float. But we are going to describe this honestly rather than let the listing flatter it: that is one drink. NA options are not broken out on the printed menu and everything else has to be requested at the bar. NA Bar Finder rates the program 3 of 5, noticeably below the rooms above. The honest verdict: come for the Thai food, order the Beets ‘N’ Cream, and do not expect a list. If a real NA list is the point, go to Bar Contra or Golden Ratio.

Take it home instead. See BYOB restaurants in NYC for the other way round.
Spirited Away
America’s first booze-free bottle shop, and the one that survived the collapse that took Boisson down — which in a category this young is the most useful thing you can know about a retailer. More than 100 brands: Seedlip, Ritual Zero Proof, Ghia and The Pathfinder among the spirits, Sovi and Prima Pave for wine, sparkling teas from Unified Ferments, plus NA beer, bitters, shrubs, amaros, mixers and ready-to-drink cocktails. Open noon to 8pm, seven days at Mott and Broome, with delivery in Lower Manhattan. The honest caveat: no prices on the site, and this is retail only — you are buying a bottle, not sitting down for a drink.

Minus Moonshine
One of the earliest dedicated zero-proof package shops in New York, open since 2021, with two Brooklyn locations — 433 Sterling Pl in Prospect Heights and 257 Driggs Ave in Greenpoint. Queer, Trans-Nonbinary, Indigenous and Autistic owned. Stocks NA beer, wine, spirits, aperitifs, mixers, bitters and adaptogenic drinks: Ghia, Seedlip, Kin Euphorics and Curious Elixirs alongside small-batch producers. Prospect Heights hours Mon–Fri noon–8pm, Sat to 7pm, Sun to 6pm. The honest caveat, and it is the real reason people balk at this category: NA wine and spirits are priced close to the alcoholic equivalents. That is not this shop’s doing, but it is what you will find on the shelf.
Beer Culture
A craft beer bar and bottle shop in one, with 500-plus bottles in stock and a rotating selection of non-alcoholic and gluten-free beers alongside the full alcoholic range — plus house-made NA cocktails, which is more than most beer bars bother with. Open 3pm to midnight, and to 2am Thursday to Saturday. NA Bar Finder rates the program 3 of 5: a good beer bar that takes NA seriously rather than a dedicated alcohol-free room, which is the honest framing. The honest caveat: the selection rotates and nothing is published — no NA beer list, no prices. Call before making a trip for a specific brand. More nearby in our Hell’s Kitchen happy hours guide.

NYC mocktails: FAQ
How much does a mocktail cost in NYC?
Between $8 and $21 in 2026, based on published menus. The floor is Golden Ratio’s Pine at $8 in Clinton Hill, then Bar Goto’s Kimino Ume at $10. The ceiling is Bar Contra on Orchard Street at $21. No More Cafe in the East Village charges a flat $14 across all eight of its signature drinks, and Superbueno’s Mole Negroni Sin Alcohol is $20.50. Only eight of the eighteen venues verified for this guide publish NA prices at all.
Do NYC bars charge less for non-alcoholic cocktails?
Mostly no. At Superbueno the Mole Negroni Sin Alcohol is $20.50 and the alcoholic Mole Negroni is $22.50 – removing the alcohol saves you two dollars. Bar Contra charges $21 for every cocktail, alcoholic or not, and Golden Ratio charges the same either way at $15-$16, with Time Out reporting that both versions get equal attention. Two bars do charge meaningfully less: Bar Goto’s N/A drinks run $10-$15 against $17-$19 alcoholic, and Katana Kitten’s Chelsioso is $17 against a $19.50-$23 spirited list.
Which NYC bars are completely alcohol-free?
Four verified for this guide. No More Cafe at 352 E 13th St in the East Village, open noon to midnight seven days with all eight signature cocktails at $14. Soft Bar at 200 Banker St in Greenpoint, with a drinks program built by Richard Millwater, formerly of Eleven Madison Park. Mockingbird at 213 7th Ave, Park Slope’s first entirely zero-proof cocktail bar – though it is a daytime cafe Monday to Wednesday and only a bar from Thursday. And Kosmic Community Anti Bar at 115 Avenue C, which runs to 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.
Is there a happy hour for mocktails in NYC?
One that we can verify explicitly includes the zero-proof list: Superbueno’s La Buena Hora, Monday to Thursday 4-7pm and Friday from 2pm, where the Michela-Na drops to $12.50 and the Mole Negroni Sin Alcohol and Chamoy Gimlet to $15.50. Katana Kitten runs a Mon-Fri 4-6pm happy hour at $12-$15, but its menu does not say whether that pricing extends to the NA drinks – assume it does not until the bar confirms. And Dante’s $10 Negroni Sessions from 3-5pm is an alcoholic-cocktail special, not an NA one.
Where can you buy non-alcoholic spirits in NYC?
Spirited Away at 177 Mott Street in Nolita, America’s first booze-free bottle shop, stocking more than 100 brands including Seedlip, Ritual Zero Proof, Ghia and The Pathfinder, open noon to 8pm daily with delivery in Lower Manhattan. And Minus Moonshine, open since 2021 with two Brooklyn shops – 433 Sterling Place in Prospect Heights and 257 Driggs Avenue in Greenpoint – carrying NA beer, wine, spirits, aperitifs and adaptogenic drinks. Both are retail only, with no bar service.
