The Knicks are defending champions. They beat the Spurs in five, Jalen Brunson was Finals MVP, it was the first title since 1973, and banner night at the Garden is Oct 20 against Philadelphia. Tickets are priced like it. So here are the seven bars we’d actually watch from, every deal re-checked against the venue this month. The short version: Continental Sports Lounge in FiDi runs happy hour until 8pm, an hour past a 7pm tip. 3 Sheets and Down the Hatch in the Village go from half price straight into a $10 beer and a shot at 7pm on Fridays. Tara Mór pours $8 Guinness a block from MSG, and Harlem Tavern covers uptown. They’re grouped by deals that survive tip-off, the Garden cluster, and uptown.

Deals that outlast tip-off
Most game-night happy hours end at 7pm, the exact moment the ball goes up. These three keep prices low through the game. More in our Friday happy hour guide.
Continental Sports Lounge On now
Our partner pick, and the only happy hour on this list still running at tip-off. Continental’s weekday window goes 11am–8pm, so a 7pm Knicks game gets a full hour of happy-hour pricing after the ball goes up. The order is the Brunson Burner: 818 Reposado, pineapple, lime, agave, jalapeño and a Tajín rim, $14 during happy hour and $18 after. Seltzers drop to $10, or $40 for a bucket of five if you brought a crew. Seventy-plus TVs across two levels, inside the Beaver Building, the one that played the Continental Hotel in John Wick. The Local Move: Tuesday is tacos all day, 11am to midnight. The Honest Caveat: big game nights fill both floors, so book a table.
3 Sheets On now
The best Friday-night math in the Village. The bar is half price Mon–Fri until 7pm (exclusions apply), and at 7pm on Friday it flips straight into a $10 beer and a shot: Miller High Life or a NUTRL vodka seltzer, with a house shot or Skrewball. Tip-off, covered, with no dead hour in between. Twenty-four big screens, and $5 Michelob Ultra and Heineken Silver cans run open to close every day, so the floor price never moves. The Local Move: Saturday’s SHEETSHOW runs noon–7pm with $14 domestic pitchers and half-price wings until 5. The Honest Caveat: it’s a West 3rd Street sports bar on a Friday night. Loud, young and shoulder-to-shoulder by the second quarter. Come for the deal, not the conversation.

Down the Hatch On now
Same Friday handoff as 3 Sheets, a couple of blocks away on West 4th. Half off all drinks Mon–Fri 2–7pm, then a $10 beer and a shot from 7pm Friday until close. The $5 Michelob Ultra and Tecate run every day, and the wings are Atomic Wings, which is why most people end up here in the first place. Monday from 7pm they’re $1 apiece, five-wing minimum. The Verdict: this is a dive that calls itself a sports bar, and it doesn’t post a screen count, so treat it as the overflow when 3 Sheets is packed rather than your first call. The Why: it’s open till 4am every night, which matters when the game goes to overtime and nobody wants to go home.
Closest to the Garden
Within a couple of blocks of MSG. The full list is in our bars near Madison Square Garden guide.
Tara Mór On now
The best happy hour near the Garden, and the bar that takes the Knicks most seriously: every game, home and away, on 16 screens with the sound up, one block from MSG. Happy hour runs Mon–Fri 4–6:30pm: $8 for every draft, Guinness included, a $10 Aperol Spritz, $12 mules, margaritas and house wine, and any two bites for $26. On game nights there are $20 buckets of Heineken or Egan’s whiskey iced tea. The Honest Caveat: happy hour ends half an hour before a 7pm tip. The Local Move: arrive by 6 and order your second round at 6:25. It’s open until 2am, so nobody has to move for the postgame.
Mustang Harry’s
Two minutes from the Garden, 20-plus HDTVs, game sound on, and the Knicks are a fixture. Happy hour is $6.50 Bud Light and PBR, $7.50 Harry’s lager and a $21 beer-and-a-shot, 2–5pm and again from midnight to 2am. The Verdict: the late window is the real deal here. A postgame beer for $6.50, a block from an arena that charges $15.75 for one. The Honest Caveat: Mustang Harry’s doesn’t post which days that happy hour runs, so ask at the bar before you plan a night around it. Open Mon–Sat 11:30am–3am, which gives a late West Coast tip plenty of room.
Stout NYC Penn Station
The big room, and an honest one. Stout’s Penn Station location runs 16,000 square feet on West 35th and opens earlier for every event at the Garden, which makes it the reliable call when the 7pm crowd has filled everything closer. There’s no happy hour here, and we’ve stopped pretending otherwise. The one standing deal is $1 oysters on Mondays, six minimum. The Honest Caveat: any guide still sending you to 133 W 33rd is out of date. Stout left that address in 2025 after twenty years. The Why: when your group is eight people and nobody booked, this is the room with space for you. Open to 1am Sun–Tue and 2am Wed–Sat.
Uptown
For when you have no reason to go near 34th Street. More in our Harlem happy hour guide.
Harlem Tavern On now
Uptown’s game-night room, on the corner of 116th and Frederick Douglass. It bills itself as a casual beer garden and sports bar, there are TVs throughout, and the happy hour is real: Mon–Fri 4–7pm, $6 select drafts, $7 house mixed drinks, $8 wine, $9 sangria and a $10 cocktail of the day. The Honest Caveat: the window closes at 7pm sharp, so for a 7pm tip you’re ordering your last discounted round during warmups. The Local Move: it’s open until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays, so a game that goes long has room to run. Take the B/C to 116th St and you’re a block away.
