The place to watch West Ham in NYC is Smithfield Hall at 138 W 25th St in Chelsea, home of the NYC Hammers since 2001 and one of the friendliest supporters clubs in the city — there is no published membership fee and no cover, and West Ham's own site quotes the club's advice to newcomers as “just show up, and you will be welcomed.” Twenty-six screens indoors and eight more outside. The catch is that Smithfield publishes no opening hours anywhere, so for a 7:30am kickoff you either ring ahead or walk eight blocks north to The Football Factory at Legends, which prints a 7am Saturday door. Best deal of the five is Rivercrest in Astoria. Below: five verified rooms and what each actually publishes across the West Ham bars NYC has on the map.

Smithfield Hall

Chelsea, home of the NYC Hammers since 2001 · 138 W 25th St $$$
No published happy hour — pints $7.50–$12, cocktails $14–$16menu prices
Early kickoffsNot published — they publish no opening hours at all. Call 212-929-9677

The Verdict: the Hammers' room since 2001, and the least gatekept supporters club in this city. West Ham's own site lists NYC Hammers under chair Sean Fewell, and their advice to newcomers is exactly four words: just show up, and you will be welcomed. No published membership fee, no cover, nothing to join. Forty-five to fifty at a normal meetup, several hundred for a big one, and the chair's own line about the space is the best detail on this page — they started in a corner and now, in his words, they have taken over the whole thing. Hard specs from Smithfield itself: 26 TVs and two bars inside across 27 tables, eight more screens and nine heated tables outside. Two Honest Caveats. Smithfield publishes no opening hours anywhere, so for a morning kickoff you are ringing 212-929-9677. And their own football page warns that a fixture listing does not guarantee a TV for every game — email hello@smithfieldnyc.com and reserve if it is a game you care about. Also worth saying plainly: the $10 spritz happy hour attributed to this bar across half the internet is not on their site. There is no published West Ham member discount either.

For a 7:30am kickoff

Smithfield publishes no hours at all. This one publishes a 7am door. See also the best sports bars in NYC.

The Football Factory at Legends

Midtown, the only published early door · 6 W 33rd St $$$
No published happy hour—
Early kickoffsYes — 7am Saturday, 9am Sunday. Closes 7pm both days

The Verdict: the fix for the one thing Smithfield will not give you, which is a number. When West Ham draw the 7:30am slot and nobody is picking up the phone in Chelsea, Legends publishes 7am on Saturday and 9am on Sunday and has done for years. Eight blocks north of Smithfield, so it is a genuine same-morning alternative. Three levels, lower one is the Football Factory, 21+, twenty big screens, a hundred-plus matches a week, thirty-plus supporters groups. The Honest Caveat that catches everyone: it closes at 7pm on Saturday and Sunday. Daytime only. For an evening fixture, back to 25th Street.

Brooklyn and Queens

Three outer-borough rooms, only one of which can show you a morning game. More in our Brooklyn and Queens guides.

Banter

Williamsburg, doors 15 minutes before kickoff · 132 Havemeyer St $$$
No happy hour — breakfast to 11am, sandwiches $8, Bloody Mary $12morning menu
Early kickoffsYes — published policy: doors 15 minutes before kick-off, any fixture

The Verdict: the Brooklyn answer, and the clearest early-opening promise of any bar in this research. Posted hours are 2pm to midnight; Banter's own site then commits to opening fifteen minutes before kick-off for all Premier League and international soccer, whatever the hour, with no hedging and no asterisk. Breakfast until 11am at $8 a sandwich and $12 Bloody Marys, twenty-four taps, around eighty standing in a long room with the bar down the middle. The Honest Caveat: no West Ham group here, no phone number published, and it is Brooklyn Spurs' home room. Fine most weeks. Less fine one Saturday a season.

The Monro Pub

South Slope, a proper football pub with the wrong hours · 481 5th Ave $$$
No published happy hour — DUB Pies all day, Walkers crisps, Pot Noodle—
Early kickoffsNo — opens noon Saturday and Sunday on its own published hours

The Verdict: a genuine English football pub — Old Speckled Hen and Fuller's London Pride on, DUB Pies and Walkers and Pot Noodle behind the bar, four screens, a back room and a patio, and outside food actively encouraged. Owner Vinny Evans is from Liverpool and it is OLSC Brooklyn's home, so on a West Ham–Liverpool day you are very much the visitor. The Honest Caveat, and it is the reason this sits fourth: their own published hours say noon on Saturday and Sunday. A pub with this much football in it cannot show you a 7:30am or a 10am kickoff on the hours it prints. They do open early for the Liverpool supporters club; there is no equivalent arrangement for Hammers. Good for a 12:30pm or an evening game, no use before lunch.

Rivercrest On now

Astoria, 3,000 sq ft with the sound on · 33-15 Ditmars Blvd $$$
$6 16oz drafts, $12 tap cocktails, $7 wine, $5 Jäger shotsMon–Fri to 7pm & Mon–Thu 10pm–2am
Early kickoffsNo — opens 11am Saturday and Sunday

The Verdict: the only real happy hour on this page, and the only room in the whole set that says in writing it puts the sound on for matches. Six-dollar sixteen-ounce drafts, $12 cocktails on tap, $7 wine and $5 Jäger shots, running from open until 7pm Monday to Friday and again 10pm to 2am Monday to Thursday. Monday adds a burger, fries and a draft for $18. Three thousand square feet indoors and out, and it takes reservations, which almost nothing else here does. The Honest Caveat: weekdays only for the deal, and an 11am weekend door. So it is your Thursday-night Europa room, not your Saturday morning one.

Watching West Ham in NYC: FAQ

Where is the West Ham supporters club bar in NYC?

Smithfield Hall at 138 W 25th Street in Chelsea, between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. It is the home of the NYC Hammers, an official West Ham United supporters club founded in 2001 and chaired by Sean Fewell. West Ham's own supporters-club directory lists Smithfield as the meeting venue, and Smithfield lists the Hammers among its nine fan clubs, so it is confirmed from both sides.

How much does NYC Hammers membership cost?

There is no published fee. West Ham's own article on the club quotes their guidance to newcomers as “just show up, and you will be welcomed.” Regular meetups draw 45 to 50 people and big matchdays several hundred. Note that unlike the Manchester United club at the same bar, there is no published West Ham member discount at Smithfield — the 10% off is One United USA's perk only.

Does Smithfield Hall open early for West Ham morning kickoffs?

Probably, but they publish no opening hours at all — not on the homepage, the contact page or the football page. Third-party listings contradict each other, with one showing a 9am Saturday open and another claiming as early as 7am. The only first-party early-opening promise on their site is written specifically for Manchester United games. Call 212-929-9677 before a 7:30am kickoff, or go to The Football Factory at Legends, which publishes 7am Saturday and 9am Sunday.

Should I reserve a table for a West Ham game at Smithfield?

For anything you care about, yes. Smithfield's own football page carries the warning that a fixtures listing does not guarantee a TV for all games — with nine supporters clubs sharing the venue, a lower-profile fixture can lose its screen on a busy Saturday. Reservations go through hello@smithfieldnyc.com. There are 26 TVs and 27 tables indoors plus eight screens and nine heated tables outside.

Where can West Ham fans watch in Brooklyn?

Banter at 132 Havemeyer St in Williamsburg is the best option, because it publishes a policy of opening 15 minutes before kick-off for any Premier League fixture and serves breakfast until 11am. The Monro Pub at 481 5th Avenue in South Slope is the more traditional English pub — London Pride, DUB Pies, four screens — but its own published hours say noon at weekends, so it cannot show a morning kickoff.
